Misconceptions about Paganism/Wicca?

That the majority of us are teenagers in rebellion.

That we are jobless, pot-smoking, hippies.

That our religion is a hobby rather than a way of life.

That we will "grow out of it".

That we don't like people of Abrahamic faiths--especially Christians.

That we are always politically liberal.

That we believe in their concept of hell.

That we all use the symbol of the pentagram.

That we are uneducated and/or misinformed.

That performing magic is always our primary goal.

etc., etc., etc.....

What...? You don't have orgies?! lol

The misconception that we believe in Satan is the one that gets to me the most. Of course, back in the old times, they just took Pan, God of the Hunt, and made him into their so called "fallen angel" lucifer.

Lets not forget the part about stealing the babies, eating them for snack...

Having intercourse with demons....

We walk around naked and have sex with trees (my own cousin asked me that one) We worship satan, we never ever eat meat. We are only Democrats and liberals, and we never vote (from the same person). Most of us are homosexuals. Wicca was started by feminists.

As a heathen, the biggest misconception I come across is from the pagan community . . . that we're all surly conservative hardnoses. Or racists. :-)

That you all love demons which is a jeadeu-christian beleif. Also devil worshipers are really a sect of Christianity but the Christian's don't want them so they give it to you.

edit: and that people like ron think magic is about trying to manipulate other people and the natural elements.

That you can feel positive or negative energy from crystals.

That you can affect people and your surroundings by doing spells.

That you know the real source of love and peace.

what gives you peace and joy by being a Wiccan or pagan?

That none of them have read a Bible without skipping parts and that is why they are all mislead into evil.
