Immigration Bill is defeated. Is this a victory for the American people?

Republican Sens. Pete Sessions of Alabama and Jim DeMint of South Carolina remarked on the Senate floor that the sergeant-at-arms' office told them that the volume of calls leading up to the immigration vote was so high it had crashed the phone system, and no one was able to get through during morning debate.

Really, wow. Amazing isn't it. So the American people were finally heard...so much so it messed the phone system up. lol

    Go Americans! Voice your opinion!!!

Now, if we can get our border closed and allow our border patrol agents to do their job! I don't know what's gonna be done with the illegals still here but amnesty was NOT the answer!

*You know, I was listening to an interview given by some of the people that created this bill. They had good intentions in solving a difficult problem, unfortunately the bill was unjust. It's sad that so much time was wasted on this bill. I wonder if anything will ever change. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

In a way I'd call it a victory for the people. We didn't want this bill to pass and now we are not saddled with what would have been bad law. Now, perhaps, the law makers will get off their tails and work on a real bill that the citizens want.

I would prefer to look at this from a futuristic perspective, Congress get ready because we the people are coming and you are not going to like what is about to happen.

This could be a great springboard for an electoral revolution in Congress, out with the old, in with the new.

There is no victory, nothing has changed. The old laws will still not be enforced just because this bill failed. We are right back where we were and it is my opinion that is exactly what the government wanted.

The only way the America people can claim victory is to enforce the existing law and deport!

Well the borders are still not closed. If the US government would have made english the main language I think race relations would be better.

More a message that the people don't want people rewarded for breaking the law just because they provide cheap labor.
