    it could be seen as an attempt by the government to silence a minority that weilds a lot of influence,or more sinerstly a way for us to dig deeper in our pockets to fund a war on terror,keep everyone in fear,it is a really good economic theory,scared people spend more money and they are also more likely to allow draconian bills to be pushed thru parliment

    I dont see how that is reasonable at all. There are some sick people in the world, and some violent people who dont care about life at all. I highly doubt that any government, security group ect would purposely do something like that to cause the erosion of civil liberities as you say.
