Question on step parents, divorce papers and death?
My father passed away recently. Our step mother is refusing to give us any kind of information and is insistant that there is no will. My mothers divorce papers read
"Responsible party & amount - Father shall maintain his present life insurance policy or obtain a life insurance policy with total death benefits of at least $100,000.00 naming the children the irrevocable beneficiaries. Mother shall maintain her present life insurance policy for the benefit of the minor children naming htem irrevocable benefitiaries. Father shall not borrow against the life insurance which is required to keep in force for the benefit of the children of the parties or to do any act which would in any way jeopardize the amounts payable for the benefits of said children. Father shall designate Mother as the trustee for the proceeds of said policy until the children reach the age of 21"
I realize that now Im 30, but being irrevocable would mean that we would have to notified if we were removed. So since none of us have received such notification do you know of any way we could find out any information? My fathers sections all state children and my mothers sections all state minor children, so I assume that this means that my father had to keep his and my mom could cancel hers when we turned 18...but again im not so sure :( Im on the other side of the planet atm so theres not a whole lot I can do from here but just trying to see if anyone has any ideas.
4 AnswersLaw & Ethics10 years ago5 Weeks old....turning over?
I had to keep putting her on her stomach to make sure it wasn't a fluke. I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it with my own two eyes. My 5 week old premie keeps turning over. I'm wondering if I should be worried, or if I should stop her from doing it somehow. The doctor told me I can put her on her stomach for up to 30 minutes every time she wakes up (she sleeps for 3 hours up for 3 hours (i dint get that one either )).
Just wondering what some of you other mothers would suggest.
9 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoIs it bad to be this dissapointed?
So im 8 weeks away now and just found out we are having a girl. I didnt think it was going to be that big of a deal but im not entirely thrilled about the idea of having a girl. I actually cried when i found out. I dont want to have to go through being pregnant again, and I figured at least if it was a boy...I dunno.
This is our first, hubby was not so excited about it at first and this has not changed too entirely much. We still havnt even bought anything for the baby. Im entirely dissapointed that its a girl and I feel really guilty about that but I dunno. Anyone else dissapointed with thier babys gender?
I just know this is going to end up sentencing me to a perminate pink hell :( :(
11 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoAm I right to be upset, or is it hormones?
So Im almost 12 weeks pregnant and I've had some problems with my husband adjusting to the idea of having a baby. Lately the past few weeks or so he has been playing Second Life for hours and hours on end from when he gets home till he would sneak into bed at 2am.
I started getting suspicious that something was going on when he would hide the computer screen everytime I would walk by, I knew he was playing that game but he would open his email or a website over it so he could cover it. I thought something was up, I asked him about it, he said it was nothing. So I got on the game myself and looked up his profile.
After finding the mention of a girl in his profile, I looked her up too and found pictures of the two of them doing....."things" and not so nice normal things that you do with just friends either.
I realize its a game but it really hurts me to see that, and now im kind of sorry that I looked.
I dont know what to do or what to say to him. :(

10 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoBaby looks ok but...?
I had another ultrasound yesterday (This makes like 6 which is nuts cause Im only 9 weeks pregnant).
The doctor was happy to see the baby looks fine, great even and theres a good strong heart beat, but she said she was concerned about the size of the sac. Anyone else seen this or had this happen?
Ive tried looking it up online and Im not finding anything, but the sac is measuring 1.5 weeks behind the fetus which is why the doctor says she is concerned. My HCG levels are doubling but its slow, takes about 5 days for them to actually double.
Theyve already put me through so much with this pregnancy, first they couldnt find the baby, then they found it thought it was a partial molar, I just dunno. (I also cant get a different doctor because Im not paying for it).
3 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoBleeding while pregnant?
Im about 9 weeks pregnant (will be tomorrow) and everythings been fine so far, no spotting and no cramping or anything.
This morning I get up to go to my doctors appointment for a blood test only and im ok for about an hour, then theres this odd gush of bright red blood. No clots or anything just a small gush of bright red blood. I asked the hospital about it while I was there and they said to wait till tomorrow because I have an ultrasound scheduled for tomorrow.
Theres no bleeding now, no blood just a bit pink and brown when I wipe.
I was just wondering if anyone else has had this and has gone on to have a healthy baby? Im really freaking out about it :(
5 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoAnyone else having this much of a problem?
I have just returned from my ultrasound today and its got me thinking. Maybe I dont belong having children, maybe its just not in the cards for me. Maybe I should just give up completely.
This is my 2nd molar pregnancy and since Ive already had 4 misscarraiges already as well this is got me thinking that maybe somethings wrong with me or that maybe Im cursed and should just stop trying.
Im completely crushed and feeling totally locked out. I dont speak the language here, and all my friends and family except my husband are halfway around the world. And I dont feel like that he really gets it.
Thanks for reading, sorry if Im rambling I just dont know what else to do anymore :(
7 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoAre all men like this during pregnancy?
Im 27 and two weeks ago I found out that Im 8 weeks pregnant. I told my husband (hes 32) the day that I found out and he wouldnt speak to me or touch me for a few days. Now is somewhat ok and at least he is talking to me again but Im just not sure what his problem is. I ask him and he says he is fine and nothing is wrong.
I asked him if he wanted to come with me to the ultrasound and he says he has to go work (where we live he can take time off and still get paid to go to scans) I just dont know what to do. Did anyone else have this problem? Do they get over it at some point?
And before anyone starts anything about how this pregnancy should have been planned ect. I was on the pill, sure they are only 99% effective but I thought I was covered since its been ok for 4 years.
10 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoPermits required to take a picture in New York?
What kind of outrageous insanity is this?
http://www.nytimes.com/2007/06/29/nyregion/29camer...
Unfortunately the only place Ive been able to find much information about it at all is the new york times, no one else has even acknowledged it, but If its true I find it entirely outrageous that they would allow something so open to interpretation in the USA. What happened to freedom of speech? Freedom of the Press? Where has the "freedom" gone?
"Some tourists, amateur photographers, even would-be filmmakers hoping to make it big on YouTube could soon be forced to obtain a city permit and $1 million in liability insurance before taking pictures or filming on city property, including sidewalks.
New rules being considered by the Mayor’s Office of Film, Theater and Broadcasting would require any group of two or more people who want to use a camera in a single public location...."
4 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoIs there a such thing as too much play time?
My kitten is just over 3 months old now and she's doing pretty good. We have a routine down, she eats three times a day, we go for walks (she isnt too argumentative about the harness), she takes a bath, lets me cut her nails, and sleeps pretty much all night in her own bed.
(so Ive got it pretty easy, she has been a dream to train as far as kittens go.)
My reason for my question is that she likes to play a lot, which is great I play with her for at least 3 hours a day, and she has tons of toys she can play with on her own. Lately though she has started to bring me her toys and wants to play more, she starts panting if we play for too long (which Ive had cats that did this before so its not entirely abnormal) So I try to slow down the play when she starts doing it.
Is there something else I can do that will help with her wanting constant play time? Should I be playing with her less?
5 AnswersCats1 decade agoAny Ideas why my kitty steals things and how to get her to stop?
My most recent family addition is a kitten who is now 12-13 weeks old. She has this immense facination with my watch and my necklaces and foil, and money, and coins. She has actually taken some of the paper money out of my purse that was on the table and hid it somewhere. She treats these things not like toys but like some kind of treasure and has different little hiding places for them. Its really driving me nuts her collecting behavior.
She had a hiding place under the bed where I found ....
1. watch
2. my medical alert necklace
3. A ring on a chain
4. a ball of foil (it must have fallen out of the garbage)
5. a ribbon
6. small metal miniature (my husband paints them)
7. lots and lots of socks
Any ideas on why she is doing this and how to get her to stop would be greatly appreciated.
Im home all day with her so Im not entirely sure when she is stealing these things between play times and going for walks and napping lol but shes doing it
