Permits required to take a picture in New York?

What kind of outrageous insanity is this?

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/06/29/nyregion/29camer...

Unfortunately the only place Ive been able to find much information about it at all is the new york times, no one else has even acknowledged it, but If its true I find it entirely outrageous that they would allow something so open to interpretation in the USA. What happened to freedom of speech? Freedom of the Press? Where has the "freedom" gone?

"Some tourists, amateur photographers, even would-be filmmakers hoping to make it big on YouTube could soon be forced to obtain a city permit and $1 million in liability insurance before taking pictures or filming on city property, including sidewalks.

New rules being considered by the Mayor’s Office of Film, Theater and Broadcasting would require any group of two or more people who want to use a camera in a single public location...."

Think that was bad.. you should look at the youtube footage of the republican convention ... how the protesters were treated.. there are tons of video clips showing numerous constitutional violations for this lawful assembly...

I no longer think of this as a free country.... It stopped being that some time ago..

RON PAUL... is our only chance to bring any freedoms back in the near future.....
