I've always been in love with the names Norelle and Alexa. Both are pretty, unique, and can have nick names made out of them.

I don't know if you have tried this yet, but here is what I did.

I bought a baby name book, and wrote down all the ones I liked.

After that, I looked through that list, and crossed off the ones that I was second guessing. Then, I had my fiancee go through the list, and cross off the ones he was totally opposed to. I ended up selling him on our daughter's name when I was about 28 weeks pregnant, lol. Her name is Isabel, and I told him he could call her Izzy, which he liked. I gave her my grandmother's first name as her middle name, so that was all taken care of. Here are a few names that I like and would consider if I had another girl.

    Ana

    Colleen

    Eva

    Lacie

    Fiona

    Hazel

    Sophie

Here's an article I found on baby names and disagreements, as well (this is just an excerpt, go to the link for the full article). Good luck and congratulations on your baby!

am 28 weeks pregnant and my husband and I are really struggling with naming our baby. I love the name Molly, but he hates it. We can't come to any compromise. How can we come together on this and choose a name for our baby? It is causing tension in our marriage.

What does a name mean to you?

Naming a child is based on emotional associations, preferences and meanings. When offering your favorite suggestions to your partner, share what the name means for you. For example, does "Molly" conjure up images of a feisty little girl, or a strong woman? The possibility of finding another name that gives you the same feeling, but is acceptable to your spouse, may become more apparent. Ask, too, what the name stimulates for your spouse and be interested in your partner's feelings! Often, we have had an association with someone by that name in the past, and the name is contaminated with a negative or disappointing experience. By sharing the feelings around these associations, couples can create their own guidelines, making it easier to identify mutually acceptable, and unacceptable names.

    Family meanings

It is the tradition in some families to honor a beloved relative by naming a child after them, or sometimes using the initial as a guideline. (For example, Aunt Martha could be honored by using the initial "M" for Marina.) Understanding your partner's wish to include family history may generate more ideas and discussions that lead to a solution based on appreciation rather than competition. This can help the two of you create your own meaning of family in the naming process.

  • We named our middle child Heaven Leigh =)

We think our 3rd baby is a girl as well (our oldest is a boy), and we have picked out the name Jasmine Nicole - if by chance this baby is a boy, since we couldn't see for sure, we have the name Tristen Michael picked out. But the more I think about it - if we do have a boy, the name may change... I loved it at first but lately I've been having second thoughts.

More names we had picked out for girls are:

    Arianna Jo

    Hayleigh Lynn

I do belive it will come to you (sounds corny, I know :-)). I had a name picked for my first one since I was 5 mo preg. One day my husband mentioned "Alexia" and that was it. For my second I thought I have a name (I picked out "Maya") but somehow I couldn't get used to it. Still think it's a beautiful name but it just wasn't for my baby. About three wks before I delivered "Isabella" poped in my head for no reason and that's what we named her. And it fits perfectly. So I do belive now what my mother-in-law said - that the mother feels what name will fit her baby. And if you'll go into delivery without a name, do not worry, you'll know who she is as soon as you see her! Good luck.

Do you have a list of names that you just can't narrow down to one? Or, do you not have any names at all??

I'd suggest looking on the internet or name books and making a list and then narrow it down from there. Or, if you are having trouble narrowing the list down, you could always ask friends and relatives what they like better.

People LOVE to give their opinions on names!! You could also post your list of names in the baby name section here and see what the public says!

    Good luck & congratulations!!!!!

    Don't worry about it.

We didn't have names picked out for any of our kids before they were born.

Our oldest was nameless for three days, and our youngest was nameless for five or six.

    It's OK.

You can ask the nurses at the hospital to help you choose. They're awesome, because they know ALL the baby names that are "too common" at any time.

And there were lots of names we were considering that we threw out after we saw our little ones: they just didn't fit.

Of course, we didn't know whether ours were boys or girls until they were born, either...

I really wanted to name our daughter Keira or Kyra. But my husband loved the name Casey, so that is what we named her. But I changed the spelling up a bit and made it Kayci :-) Other names I loved for a little girl is Avery, Noelle, Madison, Isabelle, Chelsea, and Hope. Best of luck to you!! Also best of luck with that precious little girl :-)

I am naming my baby girl Alexandra and my cousin in law is naming hers Keira. I also like Emma, Jenna, and Elizabeth. I know I like more but can't think of them. Do you have a baby name book? That might help because it will give you more names that you might not have thought of. Good luck and congratulations!!!
