The word synagogue or some derivative of it appears at least 25 times in the Book of Mormon.?
Alma 16:13: "And Alma and Amulek went forth preaching repentance to the people in their temples, and in their sanctuaries, and also in their synagogues, which were built after the manner of the Jews."
This statement assumes that these inhabitants of ancient America were aware of how the Jews built their synagogues.
Synagogues were an integral part of Jewish society in the times of Jesus as we see in the New Testament. The synagogue was established for the study of the Law, and differed very much from the temple worship of the Old Testament period, which involved many sacrifices in keeping with the Law of Moses. Scientific and archaeological evidence points to the origin of synsgagues as being about the latter part of the intertestamental period.
How could Alma and Amulek know how the Jews built thier synagogues when the Jews themselves weren t building them before Lehi (supposedly) left for the Americas in 600 BC?

Better yet: whatever happened to them. Surely they're must be some remains of them somewhere.

As War n Peace has demostrated, Smith's simple storyline is so full of holes and misinformation, it takes several paragraphs just to show how wrong it is.
"And I, Nephi, did build a temple; and I did construct it after the temple of Solomon save it were not built of so many precious things; for they were not to be found upon the land, wherefore, it could not be built like unto Solomon's temple." Solomon's Temple was built by 180,000 men over a period of 7 years if you believe the bible. Let's assume it was a scaled down project 1/1000 the scale. That's still nearly 200 MEN seven years, not old men or children.
Also, how likely is it that 8 men, 15 children and 10 women, who just fled into the 'wilderness' would be able to complete this construction project ? How could so few people run a complex metallurgical culture in the wilderness and at the same time make shelters, get food and also survive?
The Book of Mormon isn't even good fiction.

580BC the Jewish people were allowed to RETURN and rebuild the temples of Jerusalem. King David wanted to build gods temple but couldn't because of the blood on his hands from all the wars he fought for god. a person could trace the temples and synagogues back much sooner by simple study. AMEN!

Every sabbath, Jews are to meet in a place to worship God.
Where else the synagogue. Please have a source for your scientific and archaeological evidence...
Not your opinion.
Joseph Smith translated the book into what he knows in his language of his day.

That's an easy question to answer but requires one to have a decent background in LDS church history in order to fully appreciate that answer.
The Book of Mormon is a fabrication through and through. Many scientists and historians confirm this statement over and over again, and this is just another one of many problems arising in the Book of Mormon. I do have to admit, however, that the argument you've presented here is one that I have yet to have heard (or one that possibly slipped past me).
One has to remember that true history or science is never based off of one piece of evidence here or there. In order for something to truly get the stamp of approval from historians and scientists one needs to accumulate hundreds if not thousands of such pieces of evidence for or against any given theory.
In my experience the overwhelming conclusion is that the Book of Mormon as a whole is a fabrication of Joseph Smith's mind. Help also came in the form of heavy plagiarism, mistakes and all, from the Bible and other readily available documents in Joseph Smith's day. Furthermore, many proponents of Mormonism claim that it would have been quite impossible for Joseph Smith, with his fourth grade equivalent education, to have published such an upstanding document. I would definitely have to agree with that assessment. But considering the fact that there have been over 3,000 corrections to this supposedly "hollowed" document made by prophets and apostles since its original publication, it's ridiculously easy to see why the BofM we have today is in such immaculate shape. In fact I heard directly from one of the leading Mormon archaeologists working for BYU that they are currently planning on changing the phrase in the introduction of the BofM regarding the Lamanites and that "they are the principal ancestors of the American Indians." That change is most likely to come owing to the fact that there has been no appreciable mitochondrial DNA found in any of the Native Americans anywhere, and the studies have been quite extensive.
As you can tell, I have managed to not answer your question directly, however, I felt it would be worthwhile to briefly discuss where this question sits in a much larger field of study including other similar questions. This question also reminds me of other good questions such as why if the Nephites were such good Jews, did they seemingly shrug aside such staunch Jewish traditions in favor of more Christian practices centuries before such Christian practices were even taught? Jews were very proud of their traditions and yet there is scarcely any mention of Jewish traditions in the BofM. Why is it not crammed full of such discussions like the Old Testament?
Hopefully, this has been insightful. I know when I first started doing research on the BofM that I was intently focused in on one or two major discrepancies. I would like to track the progress of your question. I think it would further my own study.

This is just one of the problems with the BOM. The anachronims and quotes from Shakespeare are others.

Because Joseph Smith wasn't very good at history when he was making up the Book of Mormon.
