Well first thing, and I am sure you have already figured this out, never use the Geek Squad again. Secondly, I am sure you have done this as well, but get together with the other person and exchange stuff. If you had any personal information, you should keep track of your credit and make sure nothing funny happens. Lastly, as others have said you need to contact a higher up in Best Buy and inform them, this is completely unacceptable negligence, and you should be compensated (at least you should be refunded for service). If they don't satisfy you with their response, you should then contact a lawyer.

if it were anywhere else i would say LAWSUIT
except that you will find they have covered their collective behinds so well they can do what they want with no repercussions at all . they could post your data on the web if they wanted to because you sign a waiver before they open it.
NEVER TRUST YOUR DATA TO ANYONE Get an external usb drive for any important or senitive work and have it on disk too. dont leave it on your computer without a separate password.your name and addres and anything in outlook is probably out there already anyway. but company files and such do not save to c drive

Well in all honesty I'd call a lawyer. That is non-excusable negligence.
I would also call Best Buy HQ and get the Highest ranking officer I could get Senior VP or Above and tell them the issue.

relies upon on what geek you get. yet from what i've got seen out right here curiously that those adult adult males locate it lots much less complicated to reformat your rigidity than to actual sparkling it up. i might try down loading a reliable pgm like malwarebytes and taking a shot at it myself till now going to them. in case you do take it to them in simple terms be confident you have them agree prematurely that while they're finished you will nonetheless have all your pgms and drivers necessary and that all and sundry your equipment aspects will nonetheless be working. Too many human beings have come abode from those adult adult males in basic terms to locate that necessary drivers have been deleted and that they've lost function. If those adult adult males relatively comprehend what they're doing this shouldn't ensue.

If this information is sensitive or contains personal information, Passwords, credit card numbers I HIGHLY suggest doing at least two things.
ONE: Start changing passwords and canceling cards.
TWO: Contact a lawyer, this is a very clear case if you have proof

If you have solid evidence call your local TV station, they usually have someone who would cover it & get the word out.
They (Best Buy) seem to have a history of FUBAR service.
