Anyone who has had knee surgery, please read and answer, please....?

My Mother in Law had knee surgery 4 weeks ago. Doctors said it was bone on bone before she had it done. NOW, still hurts (and she has been good about staying off it). We have doctors appointment tomorrow, and he has already started about knee replacemant...if you have had one, or know someone who has, will you please tell us about things...like...

was it worth it?

is it better now?

how long did it take to be your old self again?

are you glad you had it done?

would you do it all over again if suggested?

stuff like that....

We would appreciate it very much.

She is 51 and stands on concrete at work all day

Thanks for your time....

hi well my cousin had his done it was very worth it.hes back to his normal self after about 6-7 weeks (long time).Hes happy cause he good know.I think he would if it was needed. It is normal for it to hurt after all its only been 6 weeks. You should ask your doctor if he can give you a name of a place where they can give your mother in law therapy. We got the doctor to give him therapy and then also he gave him some pills that should help with the pain only to be used if it was hurting though.

hope i could help and hope your mother in law feels better

you might want to get a second opinion, ive had 4 total knee reconstructions 20 years ago with intensive supervised physical therapy.

ive been disabled ever since i was hit by a semi while pulling peaple out of the car that ran into the back of my semi trailer,

my knees have been bone on bone for a long time.

ive wore out several heavy duty knee braces and pain is always there.

but i was just recently told that i was too young to get the knee replacement because they would have to keep replacing it through the years, im 51.

I can't recognize why your health care professional might no longer order a MRI. With the complex surgical procedure that's to be had you would up and gambling physical activities in a couple of months. I had alternative a few years in the past with a scar that's 12' lengthy and now surgical procedure is composed of four small holes. Get an MRI.

she needs to contact her surgeon and direct all concerns to the office.
