98 Dodge 4x4 wheel hub assembly?
This replacement will be the 7th one. Always the front driver side. This one lasted about 2k miles. The previous was less than 500mi. and that one came off while driving.Pretty scarey to say the least. All parts are new in the front end in trying to figure out what is chewing them up. We had it aligned and they never seen that the spindle was bad...$$ later. Tie rods, stablizers forks, axle and axle housing, u joints, spindle, etc. The truck has a 4" lift with 33" tires(10" rims). This is a costly procedure to keep having done.Could the frame be bent? It was in an accident back in 99, but took 45k miles for the stock one to go out. Thank you for your answers...we are at a dead end with this one!

have the frame checked it may be bent. was the wreck on that corner. the stering knuckle could have been bent then the front end aligned to compensate leaving the wheels in spec but the bearing in a bind. also if you use rims that sit out to wide it increases bearing stress. can you get rims with less offset

tott1 is nearest to the answer. The only thing that could put the bearing in a bind is the steering knuckle. It is probably not round where the bearing presses in. Another thing I have found that is hard on wheel bearings is a bad axle joint. I have 177,000 on mine and when the bearings went out, the axle joints were also bad.

i,ll tell you what id do first on it ,and that would be to have the frame checked, its very possible it could be that bad out of alignment,it don't seem like it should get just that one side, but its possible, have the alignment checked and see how bad its out,it may be that they didn't pull the frame back in good on it,and if that's the case ,this will have to be done, very expensive also in some cases, but have it checked first, good luck hope this helps.
