Anyone have any thoughts on whether Derrek Lee was on the juice?
Hit over 40 home runs a couple of years ago. Has 6 this year going into the break.
He is still hitting for average...over .330.

I'm not a cubs fan but I do not think so. He has not changed the wy he plays ball like Bonds did. He has remained the same type of hitter but with pitchers being more careful with him now then a couple of years ago. Also who is to say that his injuries over the last couple of years have not hurt his ability for the long ball.

No, I do not think he ever did. First off, he doesn't have the muscles that come with taking steroids, second he was injured last year and missed a lot of games. Maybe that wrist is still bothering him, but he is still hitting good for the most part, just not the home runs. Lastly, not every player can have the same home run hitting power year after year.

Lee has always shown himself to be a 30-40 home run guy, and there doesn't seem to be a huge spike in production that you see from a guy like Bonds, who has only 50-HR year in his career, and that's when he hit 73. I wouldn't be surprised to see Lee have a great second half, maybe finishing with 30HR.

No cause he didnt get huge. Also since then he suffered a wrist injury that cut down his power, and pitchers dont give him as much to hit. Back in 2005 pitchers werent very afraid of him, so they gave him a lot more to hit. Now they are pitching away from him, and so his power numbers have gone down because he is not a natural power hitter.

i dont think he was on steroids it happens once in awhile that a player will hit alot of hrs and after that he has none for example tino martinez was an avg25hr per year one year he had 50 did he take steroids no way he was never built like any of the players that have been suspected of it it just happens that one year a guy will hit the ball well

no. he's always hit about 30-40 HRs, he never had a huge rise or fall in his HR numbers, and he never was that big (muscularly)
