Does everybody want an action packed, very busy, lots to do holiday?

The reason I ask is that I recently purchased a static mobile home on a campsite full of them and holiday chalets and I love it.

On site there is only a small arcade and a shop. There's hardly any pets and I've only seen 3 children. It's also only 10 minutes walk from the beach and 20 minutes from the main town.

Now, the reason I ask is that this, for me is ideal. It's less than half an hours drive from work and to get the "away from it all" feeling, there's only one thing better but I'm not telling you what or you'll all want to come join me there! lol

However, I want to know if you lot out there think it might be worth advertising on eBay / local paper etc. to rent it out. I'm not totally sure I want to do so to complete strangers but for a bit of extra money, I like the idea.

So, is this anyone else's idea of a good holiday or are you all looking for something more like a Haven or Pontins where there's lots on site, lots to do and lots to keep you occupied?

Update:

Obviously the caravan is kitted out with everything you'll need. Cooker, fridge freezer, shower, toilet etc.

No TV yet though.

Anyway, that's not the point. I'm just trying to get a feel as to whether it would be worth my while advertising it anywhere or if I should save my money.

I am young, in college, and always on the go. I do however, find time to clean my place and always have it guest ready any day of the year. I use plastic plates, cups, forks, knives, spoons- the works. I only use my dishes and actual silverware when the company is over. This way I do not have to spend time doing up all those dishes constantly! I have a Swiffer broom vac and Swiffer mop that I use once daily. These things are so economical and efficient; I can sweep and mop the floors both in less than 10 minutes! Then I get baby wipes and use those to quick clean and disinfect my tables and counter tops. I use Pledge dusters multi-surface to quickly dust the furniture and pictures and knick-knacks. Then I always have Glade plug-ins or candles to help give each room just a hit of fragrance and freshness. I super clean once a week and it cuts down my daily cleaning apartment cleaning to a total of 20 minutes- very manageable. Nobody has ever bad mouthed me or my place and my place is the favorite hang out. With cooking the meals and all that fun stuff, I cook some of the food a day or two early- those things that I know I can keep good and healthy in the fridge and then I just reheat it right before we'll eat. That way I only have to make the last minute foods. The children are given a special table in the kitchen and I bought a huge SPLAT MAT. If they want to throw all the food on the floor they can do so and all I have to do is grab the mat, fold it up and throw it in the trash- no big mess todeal with.

    Advertise it!

Of course you should do this. Frantic child led activity is not everyone's idea of a good holiday.

There is of course the problem you'll encounter of having to keep the place looked after & refreshed after each booking.

But if you're willing to do this go ahead.

Most peopl who buy caravans let them out and I wouldn't put in a TV, lots of folk will love not having it there to distract them frm the surroundings (it's not called the goggle box for nothing!)

Definitely advertise this holiday - lots of people prefer peace, quiet and the chance to de-stress. So close to ton and beach it would be ideal for long weekend breaks as well. Good luck.

I used to own a caravan and thought it was super, but when my children grew up did not want to come with me, so I sold it.

Didnt hire it out, but very neighbouring caravan were hire out, some looked after them and other just abused them. But I did enjoy getting away for the weekend.

Sounds lovely to me, we have just come back from a Haven site and hated it!! Too noisy, too many teenagers and the beach was packed! We have a two year old but love to 'get away from it all' - advertise it!

It's not my idea of the perfect holiday, I hate all holiday parks! I'm sure lots of people would like it though. It's a good idea to rent it out, I'm not sure about ebay though, you want to be able to vet who your renting it to. Do you have a notice board at work?
