Question concerning the Rapture?

First a disclaimer: Personally I'm not a Christian and don't believe in the Rapture. That said I don't want any nonbelievers telling me that it isn't going to happen, etc. If you want to point game at least try to make me laugh ok? Christians, although I'm not a believer I am open minded. I'm asking this only to expand my own knowledge, any offense is purely unintentional.

So on to the question: If/When the Rapture occurs and everyone goes up to Heaven, it's my understanding that dead people will be resurrected bodily. My question is what about the people who's bodies have turned to dust? If their soul is in Heaven why do they need the body? Are they coming back to Earth after the Glorious Reappearing? Do they get a new body? Why would they want to leave Heaven to be trapped in a body again?

I know its a lot of questions but they just kind of kept coming. Thanks in advance.

Those resurrected will have new bodies and they will come back to earth to reign with Christ during the 1000 year reign. Coming back to earth during the 1000 year reign will be like Heaven. You will be with the Lord Jesus Christ. Cant ask for anything more. Peace out...........

    P.S.

Rapture is Biblical. Perhaps you who say it is not better pray that the Holy Spirit will help you see the truth in the Bible. Peace out once again..............

Many Christians do not beleive in the rapture, because they argue rightly so that the term "rapture" is not in the Bible.

The Bible does use the term caught up which means rapture. Everyone will not go to heaven. Only those that have been washed by the blood of the lamb which translates beleving that Jesus is the Son of God, confessing and repeanting of one's sins and accepting Jesus' payment fon the cross as the penalty of those sins, will go.

The spirit of dead people is in heaven but the spirits will be reunited with it's new resurrated body at the time of the the rapture. It does not matter that they have turned to dusk. I feel that someone where with-in the dust or ashes is a microscropic cell that contains all our DNA information. From that we will morph unto our new glorified bodies. Christians what are alive when the rapture occurs will be given a new body at that very second.

We need a body to eat from the tree of life that was removed from the garden of eden.

We will be returning to earth at the end of the 7 year tribulation

This new body will not be as our present bodies. We will be able to do everything with it that Jesus did after he arrose. We can walk through wall, travel anywhere in the universe, and never get sick, tired etc.

While we are gone, people may claim that UFOs took us, or that some diety removed us because we were to narrow minded to be fit to live on the earth.

“People have believed it was coming soon since Christianity's early days, yet it hasn't!” Of course it will not come (after all, it is a myth), but that will not change anything or stop the next generation of nitwits from repeating the same lame exercise. Every generation for the last 2,000 years not only believed - they believed for exactly the reasons and with exactly the same certainty and conviction as today’s Christians. Every generation has thought that the Bible was describing - specifically and exactly - their world, and that the generations before them had been wrong and had misinterpreted the “signs”. You would think that going 0-for-2,000 (at anything) might be a hint to a normal person that something is very wrong. But, the devoutly faithful have never let the real world get in the way of their belief system - and they never will.

    No rapture.

The Orthodox, Reformed, and Roman Catholic churches have no tradition of such a teaching and reject the doctrine, in part because they cannot find any reference to it among any of the early Church fathers and because they interpret prophetic scriptures in an amillennialist fashion, as being more symbolic than literal.

Jesus tells us never to give up on people, but to recognize that sometimes, no matter what we say or do, certain folks just aren't ready yet to move forward or to hear the Good News. In that circumstance, Jesus tells us not to badger, get angry, or condemn. Just move on. Shake the dust from your feet and move on. Hold those folks always in prayer, and hope for the future, but let them be.

It's hard to do, but in the long run, the best gift we have for such folks is our silent, respectful caring and hoping. So when that moment comes, don't judge, just commend them into God's hands and let go!

    Mt 10:7-15

Well first of all the rapture doesn't occur until right before Armageddon. So that means Christians will be around during the great tribulation. Unlike the left behind series.

1 Corinthians 15:52in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed.

The last trump is at the very end.

As far as the ressurection is concerned people that die do not go directly to heaven or hell. It will not occur until after the first ressurection or the rapture. People will then receive new immortal bodies that will probably reflect the former body. As far as people turning to dust, that will not prevent God from bringing them supernaturally back.

Jesus also said that his Kingdom will be established on earth. If that's the case then why the rapture? I used to believe in all that stuff, but not so sure anymore. If Christians were raptured before the end (leaving unbelivers on earth to suffer the wrath), wouldn't that give non believers a second chance? Then what about all the nonbelievers that died before hand? That isn't very fair is it? So see, God isn't the author of confusion. That's why I, as a Christian, doesn't believe in the rapture.

    1. My question is what about the people who's bodies have turned to dust? If their soul is in Heaven why do they need the body?

    I like what Redeemed said:

"Since God made Adam out of the dust of the earth, I don't think it will be a problem for those who have turned to dust."

2.If their soul is in Heaven why do they need the body? Are they coming back to Earth after the Glorious Reappearing? Do they get a new body? Why would they want to leave Heaven to be trapped in a body again?

It is our fate to follow Christ and be like Him. So with that in mind like Him our bodies will be perfected as His was after His death. We are to follow His example and do as He models.

15According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.

    - 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17

We shall not all sleep, but we shall be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye and the DEAD IN CHRIST, shall rise first.

"Now I say this, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor the perishable inherit the imperishable. Behold, I tell you a mystery; we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed." (1 Corinthians 15:50-52).

God's spiritual children, the redeemed of the ages who have lived by faith, will rise to meet the Lord in the air clothed in changed bodies. No longer flesh and blood, but something far superior in nature and glory. The dead will be changed and rise, followed by those who are alive at Christ's coming (1 Thessalonians 4:14-17). Our spirits will be dressed in appropriate attire when we enter into eternity.

What will we look like? We do not know, but we do know we will share Jesus' glory; we'll be like Him (1 John 3:2). Jesus described the righteous as shining "forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father." (Matthew 13:43). But I cannot really tell you what size of shoes to buy, or even if you'll need any. That's okay though, because this world's shoes, like our bodies, wear out too.

So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown a perishable body, it is raised an imperishable body; it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body." (1 Corinthian 15:42-44).

When we enter into heaven, it will be with imperishable or incorruptible bodies. No longer flesh and blood, these bodies will be indestructible. Ten thousand years will have no effect on them at all.

I am glad that you are open minded. I don't have all of the answers but here is a go:

Since God made Adam out of the dust of the earth, I don't think it will be a problem for those who have turned to dust.

    I don't know.

(It sounds like you've been reading the Left Behind series) We will reign with Jesus for 1000 years, that is what scripture says.

Since we will be with our Creator, we will have glorified bodies, there will be no more tears or mourning, so I don't think that "feeling trapped" will be a problem.

The main thing is to be ready. Since you are aware of end time prophecy, know that all Biblical prophecy that has been fulfilled to date has been 100% accurate.

So, being an open minded person, the question for you is who do you think Jesus is?

He is the Son of God, He came to die for your sins and mine. He rose from the dead, just the way the scriptures said He would.

God has a proposition for you. He wants to be your Savior and for you to be His child, but you must say yes. Are you willing to say yes to Jesus?

If so pray and ask Him into your life, repent of sins and follow His Word.

If you want to talk more about this feel free to email me.

You never know what tomorrow will bring! The assurance of eternity in heaven comes with believing in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Read and study the Bible, it has the answers you are looking for.

THE "RAPTURE" AKA CATCHING UP IS IN

    1 THESSALONIONAS 4:13-18

Source(s): "Rapture", when used in eschatological terms, is an English word used in place of the Latin word raeptius, which is taken from the Vulgate, which in turn is a translation of the Koine Greek word harpazo, found in the early Greek New Testament manuscripts of 1 Thessalonians 4:17.

The Rapture as taught by some is not Biblical. Those Left Behind books are a good example of the false doctrine.

We will rise and meet Jesus in the air when he comes and I believe that's where they get the word from, but that's where the similarities end with the false doctrine rapture and the truth.

1 Cor 15:35-52 answers that very question. We'll have a body different from our earthly one, so even those who were burned or whose remains were scattered will go through this process. It will be a spiritual body. The Bible doesn't describe it beyond that.

    Summary of end times:

It will happen in one day Luke 17:26-30 compared to Noah and flood and Lot and Sodom.

    No signs

Matthew 25:13 “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.

Matthew 24:36 “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.

1 Thessalonians 5:2 For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night.

    Not silent

    1 Thes 4

    16-shout

17-caught with him in the air

13 But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.

15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.

Matt 24:31 And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

    Destruction of earth

2 Pet 3:10ff tells us the earth will be burned up at Jesus coming (coming=end=burned up). You can’t reign 1000 yrs on something that isn’t there.

Resurrection of dead and punishment of wicked and righteous happen on the day of the Lord, the end.

2 Thes 1:7-9 also says that both events-judgment on righteous and wicked will happen on the day of theLord.

Acts 24:15 speaks of one resurrection and 2 groups getting either reward or punishment.

John 5:28-29 says in the hour of his coming the righteous will go to the resurrection of life and the wicked to the resurrection of damnation and all will come out of the grave. One moment and two resurrections are spoken of, not two different events.

1 Cor 15 talks about the coming of the Lord and says the end comes on that day.

The kingdom is in existence now, under Christ’s rule; he gives it back to the Father at the end.

1 Cor 15:24 Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power.

The tribulation and 1000 year reign are misinterpretations of Revelation and other scriptures in the Rapture false doctrine.
