Weight Loss?
I started LA Weight Loss yesterday after years and years of gaining/loosing/gaining more etc.
Has anyone had any good experiences they can share with me? I am looking forward to the fact they 'teach you how to eat'. I am nervous about the new chapter in my life and what is going to mean for me. Any postive experiences would be great to hear..

I did LAWL about three years ago after a friend of mine used them to drop about 70 lbs of baby weight.
I did very well with the program, losing about 40 lbs. The diet is reasonable and I still find myself going, ok I need to eat 2 more fruit servings today...they will try to sell you product. That is their job, just be expecting it. I did just fine (as did my friend) without taking their supplements (which are $$$). The bars are extremely helpful, especially in those first couple of weeks when you just need something sweet.
LAWL does work and it is a sensible plan...most everyone I know who has done it usually loses about 5-7 lbs in the first week (alot of water, I know, but it still makes your pants fit better), and then will average about 2 lbs per week after that. Don't be surprised it you do plateau at some point, it's completely normal, just don't lose sight of your goals.
Good luck!

Be wary, very wary of the weight management industry. There is a lot of money sucked away from people, in the form of formulas, prepackaged meals, supplements etc etc.
Anyone who tells you you can loose weight, keep it off. AND STAY HEALTHY just by the way you eat, and no exercise in the mix is simply phony. If not for the weight control, for the general cardio health, bone density etc you need to also add a smart exercise plan to your mix.
All that said, and if you have already made your mind to a lifestyle change, this people you mention might help you by the way of giving you tricks on how to substitute unhealthy meals for healthier ones etc.
Also... if they talk to you about ideal body weight, but do not mention your fat% (ie fat to lean tissue ratio) they are also full of it and you better run like the wind.
Ok... i am just a guy who has objectively observed how trends come and go, who just recently lost 12 pounds of fat while keeping lean tissue intact (actually increased it some) I have been both in great shape and also really fat. But if you want FREE advice from someone who honestly knows what he is doing, there is a blog that is honest and brutal about all kinds of programs, fads, and also does give positive advice etc. the address is:
http://www.burnthefatblog.com/
I have not yet bought his e-book, which apparently is really good, but just his general free advice, newsletters and the other people that participate in the blog make it worth your time, if nothing else at least to compare to what your specialists are saying at LA Weight Loss...
Finally remember it is not about weight loss, is about fat reduction...
Source(s): http://www.burnthefatblog.com/ and years and years of experience with my own fat management. Plus a few books which were not full of pumping fad diets which come few and far between (I do not recall the names,as i read them from the library and were not like Atkins now or something like that catchy ha ha) - Anonymous1 decade ago
I would suggest a cleansing diet. I lost 12 pounds in 9 days and then 28 pounds in less than a month. I also lost a lot of inches too! I learned that cleansing will help the body get rid of impurities. Impurities come from a lot of things like fast food, pollution, food additives and preservatives and lots of other things. The impurities get stored in the fat in our body. To get rid of the fat, we have to get rid of the impurities by cleansing the body. This made sense to me and I decided to try a cleanse program and it worked. The weight came off fast and this kept me motivated to keep going, not like other diets where the weight loss it too slow. I did Jenny Craig, Weight Watcher and Medifast. If you want to learn more call the toll free number 1-877-587-4647 or check out the website. This was the first time I ever did a cleanse, it was easy and I feel better. Good luck whatever you decide to do! http://diet4cleansing.com/

I think its great that you are trying to lose weight. Its hard to do. Losing weight is one thing. Keeping it off is another. In order to keep it off and stay slim you have to change your lifestyle and eating habits. You have to think twice before you eat something that's fattening. Often I will think of food that I want to eat for example I will think "Lets go to Taco Bell and order a double decker taco!" But then I convince myself not to. I think like that all the time. But that's the key. Constantly convincing yourself not to eat fatty foods, fast food, and such. is key. Its also key to eat foods that are fat free and low in calories. Then, exercise is also important. You can do it! LA Weight Loss or on your own!

Dont pay someone to tell you how to eat. Just do it. You know how to eat healthy and you just dont.
Just like me. I am not ready to lose any weight yet cause i dont feel like it and am really happy the way i am.
Try just makin a few healty recipes. Maybe smaller prtions. Thats all they are going to tell you, but they make you buy their portions. Be happy with what ya got. =)
