The financial aid we send to Africa?

Have you ever noticed how you only ever seem to see women, children and old folk who are starving in Africa? How come we never see any men in their 20's, 30's and 40's who are starving?

I saw something on the news the other day about trouble in Nigeria or Zimbabwe or somewhere like that. The pictures showed all young men, who looked pretty healthy, were properly clothed and had weapons like machine guns and pistols.

So I was wondering, Is the financial aid we send to these countries going in to the wrong pockets?

Are these men taking this money to look after themselves and to buy weapons, whilst they leave the women, children and old folk to suffer?

Am I the only person that has noticed this?

    let me set you straight...

    firstly,Nigeria is not among the countries that gets financial aid from all these benefits.....it's the countries that are in war that get it countries like sudan,zimbabwe,rwanda,e.t.c

    and secondly,yes,most of the aid going to those countries get to the wrong hands cos so many African leaders don't care about the welfare of their countries,all they care about is their personal gain...it's only the NGO'S that are really helping these countries-like UN,WHO,e.t.c

    You only see women, children, and elderly when the media covers poverty because people don't sympathize much with men. It is all marketing.

    You see healthy men with guns because it is generally the young, healthy men who become guerrillas. That doesn't mean there aren't plenty who starve.

    Generally, aid organizations are very careful about getting resources to the people who need them. They usually send goods, rather than money, but of course it sometimes ends up in the hands of those who are less needy.

    the billions of dollars the whites send to africa every year are used by the rulers of those countries to buy personal gulfstreamV private jets, fleets of mercedes benz cars, for wives and family, huge personal residences, shopping sprees around the world, and weapons for their personal armies to keep them in power, while millions continue to starve. so when you see that jackass paul hewett (aka bo-no) on tv begging bush for more money for africa, think about what it is spent on, presidents and dictators lavish lifestyles, because aid to africa is the biggest scam going on today

    Because EVERY PENNY OF "AID" you send to Africa GOES TO THE BANK ACCOUNTS OF ROGUE REGIMES that control Africa in which you do a GOOD BUSINESS with. You know what I am talking about. So next time, DO NOT say we send aid to poor Africans, you send aid to corrupt presidents not poor Africans.

    Bob Geldorf (or whatever) had to keep the money to pay all the greedy stars.

    I agree with Phoenix...it triggers our emotions more when we see babies starving because they are helpless, when in fact everyone is starving.

    I also wonder, with all the money we have sent to feed the poor, why are there still starving babies?

    We've been sending money for decades, maybe its time to send some birth control too.

    Oh right, I forgot, we're supposed to tell them to abstain from sex.
