Has anyone ever fished a lake at the same time bass pros were fishing it? Were they polite?

Please feel free to comment even if your answer was no. Most of the guys that we encountered were polite, and respected our "personal fishing space", but 2 of them were quite rude. I wish I knew what names went with which boats, because I would have cast the "northern pike" spell on them, LOL. "May you catch nothing but northerns, and may they rip every single one of your favorite lures". haha

Okay, we were fishing next to a bridge, and they all had to come thru to go weigh in or whatever, and it's okay that they passed close to us, because we were fishing in the channel. Most waited until they were past us and the other boats until hitting the throttle, but 2 of them didn't care, and were what I would consider extremely rude. Here are 2 links. One pic of the rude guys, he is just hitting the throttle, and the guy in the background in a white tank is another boat, see how close they were? The other link is on how the tourney is going.

Update:

Well, yahoo doesn't give enough space for people who want to talk :-)

The guy in second place look very familiar.......and if he is the one, then he was fishing up north

Update 2:

Thanks for all of your stories. Sorry, I can't pick a best answer on this.

    1st. Sharon, good Q!

2nd. Ingun took the word's outta my mouth!

I've met some super-nice "pro's". And some real @ss-hole amateurs.

I once watched a "guide" pull a GUN on a couple amateur-bass fisherman.

Story Goes: I was in a tourney and working a shoreline, when we come up on a guide trying to "spoon-feed" a MONSTER bedding bass a shiner. Me & my partner admired the bass and then took a wide berth AROUND the guide, (He was a nice fellow just trying to please his client.), and continued down the shoreline.

About 100 Yrds behind us was a couple guys from another "club" fishing the same shoreline.

These guys didn't take a WIDE berth. The next thing I know , somebody's "popping rounds" off into the air.

I guess the guide had asked these 2 idiot's to take a hike and they started spoutin' "rules & regs of the high sea's"!

The guide told them if they didn't take a hike he was gonna put a hole in their boat. They didn't listen.

Once Mr. Guide put a couple 357 rounds into the air it kinda "got their attention".(lol)

We motored over and "backed up" the guide when the Water Patrol was called,('Course the guide was a "local" and knew the DNR boy's perty good!). The question that kept runnin' through my head was ,"How stupid do you have to be to mess with a "local" guide fisherman trying to make a living on "his" water?"

To sum up: The 2 "dumb-@sses" got ticket's AND missed their "weigh-in" (serves'm right!), the guide got his gun confiscated(,but he told us after the 2 DA's left he would get it back! lol), and me and my Bass partner got to see how NOT to act in a bass tourney.

I still wonder to this day what those 2 tourney guys were THINK'IN to mess with a "local" guide whose 3rd cousin was probably the chief of police! (lol)

northern pike spell? havent heard of that one. That musta been the spell i had in my first tourney, 1 bass (which landed me third place) and about 10 northerns.

Well back to the question. I havent been on a lake at the same time as the pros, but there are a few who i know are rude. i.e. Gerald swindle. I can assure you it isnt steve kennedy. This guy is amazingly nice and a good hearted man. I've seen behind the scenes footage of this guy. He (along with KVD) are my icons and i hope to be up on there level soon.

I have seen a few but they have been nice now the ones I have had many troubles with are the amateur class of tournement fishermen!

Rude and ride right over lines been called a perch jerker baby boater!I have had serveral cruise right in between my boat and pier I was fishing.

We are fishing a small cove and my buddy and I each catch a few good fish soon a boat comes over and sits right in front of me the 2 guys in this fancy boat with all their emblems on their shirts started fishing.I said hey guys we were fishing here the one guy looks back and says hey you f'in river rat we are in a tournement and dont have time to waste on you! I said oh ok so we moved about 60 yards away and I hook up and put in my live well 5 legal bass and tell the guys just want you to know that if you want I will be cookin these up for lunch and your welcome to join us!I just laughed and lifted up the 2 largest fish a 4.5 and 6.8 bass and told em that these will fillet up just fine!

We pulled out of their shouting range and yes I did let them go but I just had to do it!

At one lake when guys were very rude I went to the tournement area and reported a boater but was told to "get the f out of there before something happened" so yes I pushed it!

It is called be nice on the water no matter whom you are and what you are doing!
