Tennessee Titans - 2007-2008 Season Prediction?

How do you think that the Tennessee Titans season will go? With the loss of Travis Henry (RB) and PacMan's suspension, I predict that they will pull through at 9-7.

They will take a step back this season. Young will suffer some setbacks due to a couple of reasons.

First, defenses have game tape to plan against him. They can now have a half seasons worth of actual NFL film to find out what his weaknesses are. They will be ready this year because they know what he can do.

Second, the Titans didn't find him any help. They cut Henry which took away his running game. White and Brown are not starter material. White can only make cuts when you are talking about a steak or when someone is blocking his way to the buffet. Brown has not been productive since they drafted him. Then they refused to go after a top WR to give him a target. That, and they gave away his WR corps from last year. Now he has a WR group with less experience than he does. Defense will can man on the corners, let their LB's play spy on Young, and blitz their safeties on Young while having their DE's play contain around the pocket.

Third, the defense will miss the headache named Pac-Man on Sunday's. His suspension shook up their secondary. Now they have no man corner that they can use for their blitz packages. The Titans will spend a lot of time trying to compensate for their secondary, which will affect their run defense. Their safeties and LB's will have to play more zone coverages.

Lastly is something that I don't think many Titan's fans thought they had to worry about. It's Jeff Fisher. He has done a very good job of rebuilding this team and getting the franchise stabilized, but he may not be looking to come back next season. He has repeatedly dodged the quesiton. That means that players may start to feel like they are playing for a lame duck coach or a coach that doesn't have any desire to succeed this year. It will essentially resemble Bill Cowher of last year.

At best, I say 7-9. I wouldn't be surprised if they go 5-11 though if locker room problems spill out and Fisher doesn't take control.

Coming from someone who lives right outside of Nashville and a fan of the team, I think the Titans will have a much tougher time just getting back to 8-8 this season.

The lost of Travis Henry was very HUGE lost. Now the running game is very questionable with the likes of injury-prone Chris Brown and untested rookie Chris Henry. LenDale White's situation..... well, I just let that alone. Anyway, without the running game, Vince Young will be required to do more than what I think he should need to do, especially with him being a young quarterback. It will be easy for opposing defenses to focus on Young, if the team is one dimensional.

Vince Young can't truly carry the Titans on his shoulders the full season. The team also lost its two leading receivers in Bobby Wade and Drew Bennett. The receivers will also be questionable as well.

The lost of Adam Jones for the season will make things challenging for the team's special teams and secondary. Rookie, Michael Griffin was brought in the hopefully help in the secondary, but with him being a rookie in the division that the team is in, Peyton Manning is probably rubbing his hands with joy at the opportunity to test this young man.

Speaking of Manning, the division is also a tough one with the likes of the Colts and Jaguars. Even the Texans seem to made some improvements..... at least on paper it looks like it could be an improvement.

Hoping that I wrong, I think the team will end up with eight wins at best.

Like last year, I think the Titans will run all over the Texans, and will finish third in their division with a record of 7-9. They have a great coach in Jeff Fisher and a tremendously talented leader, but their personnel department made way too many lousy decisions this past year. I truly believe that the Titans should have taken a receiver in the first round instead of a safety turned corner, because the most important part of the team is Vince Young, and if he is to grow and mature as a player, he needs some help on offense. The Titans failed to grab any big name free agents, although they did have an interesting draft. After the poor choice in the first round, the Titans went with an interesting philosophy, drafting a whole bunch of players with outstanding physical capabilities, but little game time experience. If one or more of these rookies rises up to the occasion, the Titans could push 8-8, but I just think there's too much on Vince Young's shoulders. He needs some help.

Oh, by the way, your name's not Dylan, is it? You happened to ask about the two teams a friend of mine pulls for, and I couldn't help but wonder...

Look I live in Nashville and 9-7 isnt even an option. Come on now they have no Adam Jones, their safeties stink they are converting a safety to corner. On offense no explosive WRs and TEs dont block particularly well. Not to mention the two best RBs on the roster one is over 20% bodyfat and the other the team sat during last season in Chris Brown and he cant stay healthy more than 7-8 games a year anyways. Oh yeah it is going to be a long season for the Madden coverboy. I predict 6-10 and that is with the grace of the lord coming down and pulling half those wins out your butt.

Yeah that sounds about right considering their schedule. Vince Young will add to some wins, which is why I wouldn't be amazed if they could win 10-11 games. They did get some help in the secondary to partly make up for the loss of Pacman Jones this year, and you can't call Travis Henry that big of a loss with the young talent they have and Chris Brown...their rushing offense will be just fine. Passing offense.....I'm not sure what they're going to do, they have a few guys at the position, but it didn't show up last year.

Anyway....9-7...depending on Vince Young's success or Madden Curse...if anyone believes that....

Man, you are going to be disappointed! The only way that will happen is if the rookie RB turns out to be some sort of Superman. Chris Brown will go down within the first 5 games, the defense is going to have trouble getting to QB's, the secondary is suspect, and the return game will suffer with the loss of our resident thug, Pac Man. I wish I shared you enthusiasm, but the best record that I see happening is around 7-9. Go Titans!

I hope Vince can pull something better out of his bag of tricks then he had last year. Sure he can run and make plays, but ask Mike Vick about that, it only works until teams start making him throw. Vince has the arm to do better then Vick, but last year he completed 52% of his passes, which won't cut it in the NFL. If he gets his accuracy down, and LenDale White can run like he did back at USC, I see a 9-7 season. But if those two things don't happen, look for a 6-10 season.

A better record than last year with the losses of 2 key players and no huge acquisitions? I don't quite see the logic behind that one. I think VY will continue to improve, but he's not working with a whole lot around him. I agree middle of the road though.

7-9 is what I see. Houston will be stronger this year, Jags always have potential, it would not surprise me if Titans fighting to stay out of cellar. Strong offensive line but too many of the other offensive pieces of puzzle are suspect.

They'll do worse than last year. Lost their running back. Lost their defensive back, and their Quarter Back will not improve but instead go into reverse. The Madden curse will probably affect him. Like Nashville guy said, if their new running back is a superman and can bail out the Vince Young they might go 7-9.
