What can I do about this?......?
I have an online acquaintance who is ill. She talks about God healing people and I do believe that HE does heal. But she seems to refuse having surgery that the doctors says she needs. I am trying to help her by giving support but she doesn't seem to want the help, you keeps on & on talking without answering my question. And no I am not here, to talk about her or to put her down I really want to help her out but I need help from someone who might have been in this situation before.
I have talked to my friend until I am blue in the face about how important it is for the surgery. I know I can not force her to have the surgery, and she just recently told me she has a feeling that God wants her to have the surgery but since she had it out with her doctor's nurse, he refuses to treat her so now she is praying that GOD will hurry up & heal her.
I know to an extent she is draining me down, because I am staying so stressed because I can't help her. That is just a part of who I am, I love helping people. Thanks for all the good answers.

This is a classic example of too much religion ! I don't know if you can change her mind... She believes this... It's hard to change a belief... I'm not putting her down either... She needs to get medical attention.. without which may kill her. I hope you can reach her..

Please, for the friend's sake look up in the Bible and find if there is any passage that says that help from a Doctor is evil.
I've heard of 'miraculous' healings in the name of Christ (and other Gods) but, honestly, ask her for just in case that she has not received the surgery and passed away how would that make her Family and Friends feel?
I know that certain Christian sects are against accepting medical help, but - ask her, if she has the little ones, or anyone at all caring (including you as a friend) how would her passing help?
On another topic - there are many ill ppl. there, and, w/o trying to commit a blasphemy, how will all the people she knows feel if she passes and has not helped herself?
- God helps those who help themselves (source unknown)
Another thought - you could get her commited - refusing a life-saving surgery aka. lack of reasonable judgment. Just trying to get you to help save a life.
She can still pray and, if in her pov God works trough others why would He not work trough a surgeon who is trying to save her?
Think about it.

I took a seminary class about healing. It dealt with this idea, and we were required to see a movie about it, but I've forgotten the name of it.
A couple of thoughts:
1) If she's an adult, it's up to her if she accepts medical treatment or not.
2) There's some chance she'll have a miraculous recovery without the surgery.
3) Some people use "God" as an excuse for what they want to do, like, "God told me to join this gang (and get shot & paralyzed for life)". It could be a form of suicide (??).
Just support her the best you can. We'll never know her true reasons.

Whilst ever she believes the Invisible Man will save her she's getting closer to death cos the Invisible Sky Guy only does magic tricks in books - NOT in reality - no matter how many lies Benny Hinn spins.
Cut her loose - she's a spinner - she'll drag you down even further than you are already.

Although it is difficult when a friend chooses a path contrary to one you believe they should take, you must realize it is >their< choice, not yours. If you love them, help them by supporting them any way you can, without trying to change their mind. That kind of change must come from within them.
If you must, pray to God and request that God intervene through God's will ...

some people think that when god heals they don't have to do anything and he will strike down his lightining and personally take care of people. he takes care of us through other people also. tell her this story. "there was once a man who loved god and believed that god would take care of him. one day a huge hurricane was coming through his town. his basement flooded so he moved up a story. he kept moving so finally he's sitting on the roof and a rescue boat passes. hey bud screams the driver come on in i can help. no no replies the believer i'm fine god will take care of me. the flooding continues. another boat comes bye. the driver tries to help the man. non no i'm fine he replies. god will take care of me. the boat leaves. the flooding is terrible by now. a helicopter comes come on they say we'll help you. once again the man replies that god will take care of him. the helicopter leaves and eventually the man drowns. he's in heaven and he asks god. "god, i believed in you the entire storm why didn't you help me? god looks at the man. what? i sent you 2 rescue boats and a helicopter." hope this helps

one thing a very wise pastor i knew said about this subject is that god also gives the knowledge and power of healing through doctors. and he uses them to heal his ppl.

Tell her sometimes God calms your storm then theres other times he holds your hand and walks you through it. Its ok to accept medical treatment and it doesnt mean you have given up on believing in a miracle.
