Carbon Copy.. I may send you a mail saying: "Dear Sir, Send me the documents plz" and send a CC to your Boss, in business this means you're obliged to send me the documents because your address is in the "To" field.. while CC to your Boss means he knew I asked for that and will make sure it's being executed.

CC stands for "carbon copy". In effect, it is no different from the To field. However, common etiquette is that you would CC someone to keep them apprised of what the email concerns but are not expecting them to respond to your email. BCC is "blind carbon copy" and functions a bit differently. Addresses placed in the BCC field will receive your email, but they will not know who else received a copy of the same email (perfect for sending out mailing lists).

Assuming it hasn't changed, "cc" stands for carbon copy (at least to my knowledge), referring to the carbon paper used to make copies on a manual type writer. The carbon paper was put between 2 or more sheets of typing paper depending on how many copies you needed and indicated who a copy was sent to or filed.

All correct - it means a carbon copy and everyone on the list can see that it has been copied to that person. BCC is a "blind" copy - only the person who gets the copy will know they have it because their name/email doesn't appear on the other recipients' messages.

It stands for "carbon reproduction". in case you positioned an handle in as "c.c." it is going to deliver a replica of the e-mail to the commonly used addresses as properly as those addresses indexed as "c.c". as quickly as sent all the recipients can see the addresses indexed as "To:" as properly as those indexed as "c.c.". in case you want to deliver a replica to an handle that others won't word of you should use the "b.c.c." or "blind carbon reproduction".
