Yes. I know this from personal experience. I had severe acne for most of my life until I visited a dermatologist. She prescribed birth control pills and my acne cleared up. Some may cause acne to worsen but the dermatologist or will know which one is best. As for the hair part, its not really true. Birth Control can cause hair shedding in some people.
