Are you aware when you are sitting and when you are standing?

The student asked the teacher, "How do you know when you have attained enlightenment?"

The Master responded, "Men sit and men stand. When the Enlightened One sits, he knows he is sitting; when he stands, he knows he is standing."

Do you think this story also implies that we see some meaning in every action that we take?

Yes, I think this story implies that we should see the meaning in every action that we take. Sometimes, before we arrive to this kind of enlightenment, we must falter first or make mistakes. We tend to know what we are doing until we get hurt and that's when we find out that it was a mistake. It takes a lot of maturity and much experience before we can know when we are sitting and when we are standing. But we find fulfillment everytime we find the meaning to our action.

I disagree with rachel, I do see meaning in this statement. Yes is the answer to your question. Nice analogy.

I don't see any hidden meaning behind this statement to be honest. It doesn't make too much sense to begin with.
