In yahoo360, I've noticed some blog pgs. having news feeds put directly on them. How is this done?

Are there special mail settings to do this?

No special settings, but it may take several tries for a link to work, so keep that in mind.

    - Go to any the site that you want to get the feed from. Look for the "RSS or XML" link or orange RSS button (okay, sometimes it's a different color). A RSS file will come up on the next page. (If the page looks like raw code, but don't let it scare you!).

NOTE: If the XML page doesn't come up, click on an option in the RSS pulldown menu at the top, but don't follow through with it. Go back out and try clicking on the RSS link again.

    - To add the RSS URL to your Yahoo! 360° Feeds module, click on the "XML/RSS" button, select the URL found in the address bar of your browser, then use "Ctrl-C" on your keyboard to copy that address.

    - Click the "Add a Feed (via RSS)" in your Feeds module on your "My Page" in 360. Use "Ctrl-V" to paste the URL into the "Add a feed" space in that page. When you're done, click the "Save" button below.

NOTE: Please note that feeds are updated on a schedule, so it may take a few hours before your feeds appear on Yahoo!.

WARNING: Getting the link to be accepted without an error can take SEVERAL tries. I mean, SEVERAL. No kidding, even if you have the correct URL. The module is buggy.

The general help page has instructions -

Then, the Yahoo team's blog has a post on the subject at -

Even more information is available at http://developer.yahoo.com/rss/ .

HOW TO ADD A FEED TO YAHOO 360 PROFILE PAGE

When you find a site you would like to feed into your profile on your top page of the 360.. look for the letters XML or RSS on the site you are wanting hook to..

click it and it will take you to your feeds editing page..

where it says subscribe to this feed click it to signify you want to subscribe to the page.. now look up at the address on your browser.. usually this will do the trick or you can get it from clicking onto the feed properties option at the same place you clicked to subscribe to the feed.. copy this url and go to your MY PAGE and on top of the module for the feeds it says edit feeds.. click it

the page it pulls up has 3 slots for you to paste urls to feeds into it .. paste the url into the first one and then click save..

If you are lucky it will feed right away.. but 9 times out of 10 it will tell you it can't fetch the feed for you.. so just be patient and try again the next day.. eventually you will get it to feed if you do not have success right away though it has been my experience.. they are not compatible to yahoo and it is a waste of time..

    good luck!
