Brits only, please, from London. I know the Cutty Sark had a bad fire some time ago.?

What is its status now. Will they rebuild it. Haven't heard anything new about it in the US. Love London and the CS was my favorite tourist sight.

The Cutty Sark was badly damaged by fire. The fire apparently broke out around 4.45 am on 21 May 2007. It is too early to say what the future will be for this great ship.

Thankfully, the ship was undergoing restoration work at the time, and about fifty per cent of the ship had been removed, including the iconic figurehead, the masts and rigging, the coach house, and a significant amount of planking, so it could have been a lot worse.

Details of how to make a donation are available on the Cutty Sark web site at http://www.cuttysark.org.uk/ or donations can be sent to the Cutty Sark Trust at 2 Greenwich Church Street, Greenwich SE10 9BG.

"This ship has been through many things. She's over 100 years old. She's been through recessions, storms, hurricanes. She's been battling all her life. She's not dead yet, far from it."
