Why do people keep saying "6 million Jews", when even the holocaust museum revised it to like 1.4 million in 1992?

Sorry but you are just coming across as a Nazi sympathiser.

There are several Holocaust Museums and I doubt that any would revise it down to 1.4 million.   If they did then they made a stupid mistake.    And as there are several Holocaust museums you are believing the ONE that says 1.4 million and ignoring the many that have a much higher figure.   You see now why you come across as a Nazi sympathiser ??

The intent to exterminate Europe's Jews was very clear.   There is Herman Goering's written instruction to Reinhard Heydrich of July 1941 (almost certainly after consultation with Hitler)  instructing him to prepare a detailed plan for the 'final solution' to the 'Jewish problem'.

There is the Wannsee Conference of January 1942 headed by Heydrich in which they discuss how to exterminate the Jews and what roles Reich officials will play in it.  The minutes of the meeting are there for anyone to read. 

1.2 Million Jews were exterminated in the Auschwitz- camp complex  (Auschwitz 1, 2 and 3)  (But mainly Birkenau - camp 2).   That is fact.  Camp commandant Rudolph Höss in fact estimated it to be much higher.   The SS held records.

Around 850,000 to 950,000 Jews were exterminated at Treblinka death camp.  That is undisputed fact.   The SS held records of all rail transports from Warsaw and the surrounding areas (principally in the summer of 1942)

At the Nuremberg trials in 1945-1946, Höss stated that he (mistakenly) though that as many as 3 million had been killed at Auschwitz.

So that's just Auschwitz and Treblinka alone.  About 2.1 Million. 

Then there are records of over one million killed by the Einsatzgruppen SS death squads in 1941 and 1942.   

So that now makes that total over 3.1 Million.

Then there are the extermination camps of Sobibor, Majdanek, Chelmno in Poland which are estimated to have killed over a million.    So now it's around 4.2 million plus.

Then the concentration camps of Belsen, Dachau, Mauthausen, Gross-Rossen, Ravensbruck etc etc.  and all the satellite labour camps where life expectancy was 3 months or less, and the death marches in Jan.-March 1945. 

At Adolph Eichmann's trial in Jerusalem in 1961, he never contested the figure of 6 million. Check the records if you don't believe that.  ( Eichmann was the principal administrator who organised the train transports to the death camps. )

So to put it politely, you really have no idea what you're talking about.  Do some research. 

I suspect you have confused the total given for the Auschwitz camps with the total for the Holocaust.  

There has been no such revision.  Six million Jews and 5 million goyim murdered by the Nazis, not counting combat deaths and collateral damage.

Was it revised? I know in european newspapers in the 1880s and 90s they often mention 6million 6 million persecuted.. it may be a catchcry of the story

I can't find the Holocaust Museum revised numbers. I strongly suspect if you included the link f/ the source, the answer would be there.

why because 6 million where persocuted by the hitler reguim , if it was 6 million americans gassed by hitler you certainly would make sure they dont forget after all you remember pearl harbour . And stalin killed russians , get you facts right .

Which “holocaust museum”? There are many museums and memorials dedicated to the WW2 Holocaust around the world.

Around 1.4 million killed at Auschwitz. But there were thousands of other concentration camps throughout Central Europe. All together about 11 million people were killed, half of which were specifically Jewish victims.

I read that a bunch were in some hidden factory and the nytimes claimed 6 million Jews found hiding after WW2.

When the Ruskies rejected the claim after world war 1 of 6 million, the second time around should have been like crying wolf 

It's a fact the Russians Mickey moused the camps, then Alfred Hitchcock filmed their circus show.

There was even a fake chimney.

What also intetesting is that paintings by inmates are forbidden to see.

It was in the millions but I note that Jews like to keep quite the fact the millions of others (gays, political prisoners, gypsies etc) also got exterminated in gas chambers
