Can anyone tell me the title of this Japanese comic book/Anime/Movie?

The movie begins with a man picking up a woman and taking her to his place. Once they get there, she changes into a kind of demon and then some other guys bust in and exterminate her. They are similar to ghost busters but this is serious. I know there is an anime of this too. I believe it all started in some kind of comic book. Can anyone help me with a title?

Update:

It is not Van Helsing. This has more to do with aliens and a group hunting them. I believe the lady/Alien in the movie turned into a spider like creature. I have both the anime and the movie on vhs somewhere. Guess I might have to dig them out!

Update 2:

Not Vampire Hunter D either. They made that into a movie?

I'm an American that loves anime and manga so I hope my below answers help: 1. Yes, I like comics. 2. Reading comics is entertaining and I like to escape the stresses and worries of everyday life by immersing myself in a good story. Additionally, the artwork can be astounding. I am continually amazed at how real background can appear in anime or the depth of emotion on a character's face in manga. 3. Yes, I have read manga. I really enjoy it. It can give insight to a character that you can't get by just watching the anime. Or it can expand on the story. When I read manga, I don't think I am reading a comic but something akin to a novel...a story that needs to be told. 4. Yes, there is a vast cultural difference between Japanese and America comics. Americans can be VERY closed minded when it comes to nudity and sex. It can be very funny in manga (yes, I find ecchi funny). Also, Americans are not tolerate of same sex topics, for example shojo-ai or shounen-ai. Additionally, I generally find manga to be more thought provoking, as well as stirring deep emotions, than American comics. 5. Comic lovers can have their own culture.....the world of comics is not something universally understoon. It takes another lover of comics to understand the fan groups, etc. I hope this information helps.

This reminded me a little of the anime Hellsing.

Could it be Vampire Hunter D?

    Any more information?
