What was the sandwich from the movie Spanglish?
In the movie Spanglish with Adam Sandler he makes a sandwich at one point that has an egg cooked over easy on it, I never did catch anything else that was on it.
It looked really good and for some reason I've always wanted to know what it was so when I go out I can possibly look for it at a restaurant or try to make it myself.
Thanks in advance. =)
Also, how was is it prepared? what's the best bread to use, was it toasted? Was the egg was over easy correct?
Spare no details, I enjoy good eats. =)
Also, does it have a certain name?

I found this:
This article is about the, arguably, “World’s Greatest Sandwich”.
If you’ve seen the movie Spanglish on DVD perhaps you checked out the extras. You would find this recipe there. Adam Sandler plays a chef in the film and was trained to make this sandwich by the famous chef Thomas Keller. Keller is the owner of the famous restaurant French Laundry in California’s wine country.
Here’s the ingredients:
3-4 slices of bacon
2 slices of Monterey Jack cheese
2 slices of toasted rustic country loaf (or other GOOD bread)
1 tbsp of mayo
4 tomato slices
2 leaves of butter lettuce
1 teaspoon butter
1 egg
Preparation:
Cook the bacon until crisp, drain on paper towels
Place slices of cheese on one side of toasted bread. Place in toaster oven or in oven under broiler to melt.
Spread mayo on other slice of bread top with bacon, sliced tomato, and lettuce
On non-stick skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Fry egg, turning over briefly (keeping the yolk runny)
Slide finished egg on top of lettuce, top with other slice of bread (recommend cheese-side down)
Place sandwich on plate and slice in half, letting yolk run down sandwich

Spanglish's Sandwich
From Thomas Keller
4 thick slices of bacon
2 slices of Monterey Jack cheese
2 thick slices of rustic white bread, toasted and hot
1 tablespoon mayonnaise
4 tomato slices
2 leaves of butter lettuce
1 teaspoon unsalted butter
1 large egg
1. In a skillet, cook the bacon over moderate heat, turning, until crisp, about 8 minutes. Transfer to paper towels to drain.
2. Set the Monterey Jack slices on 1 piece of toast. Spread the mayonnaise on the other slice of toast, then top with the bacon, tomato and lettuce.
3. In a small, nonstick skillet, melt the butter. Add the egg and fry over moderate heat, turning once, until crisp around the edge, about 4 minutes; the yolk should still be runny.
4. Slide the egg onto the lettuce; close the sandwich and eat right away.
Makes 1 sandwich.

Ingredients:
3-4 slices of bacon
2 slices of Monterey Jack cheese
2 slices of toasted rustic country loaf (pain de campagne)
preferred substitution used here: sourdough boule)
1 tbsp of mayo
4 tomato slices
2 leaves of butterhead lettuce (Boston lettuce variety works here)
1 teaspoon butter
1 egg
Equipment:
Frying pan
Sheet of tinfoil
2 sandwich picks (optional)
Defibrillator (optional, but highly recommended)
The key thing is not to cook the egg fully... there has to be a yolk... I had this sandwich in a restaurant in California... which I understand the sandwich came from there.

It was a fried egg sandwich with lettuce, tomato and mayo. One of my personal favorites.
