With two similar coins tossed (not the same coin tossed twice or identical coins tossed) the probability of getting two different faces is 100%,

Since they are similar and not the same that implies that there are at least some differences. Niether coin would have the same face, be it mildly different or totally different, they would always be different and not the same.

Now if you are not being so strict to the wording, then you have a fifty percent chance of tossing a coin and getting the side you call, and if you chose which side to call by first flipping a coin to decide, then it would still be a fifty percent chance. Now if you were to ask what the probability of not only getting the same "face" twice but also predicting which "face" it would be, then your odds would go down. Instead of having a 50% chance you would have a 25% chance.

    1/2 times 1/2 is 1/4 or twenty-five percent.

    prediction

    "Heads" ----- Heads (50%) ----- Heads (25%)

    \ \

    \ Tails (25%)

    \

    ----- Tails (50%)

This chart probably wont look right when it gets published (sorry) but it looks right here :)

    P(different faces) = P (H and T) or P (T and H)

    = (1/2 * 1/2) + (1/2 * 1/2)

    = 1/2

I don't know the probability but i would just use a coin with 2 of the same faces and the other coin with 2 of the same faces therefore you can't lose there. The similarity between them is that they boh have 2 facs sorry i couldn't help you further.
