While there is no particular reason to give this less credence than Genesis, and it is undoubtedly an elaboration of Hebrew myth, it was in fact written much later and never formed part of the Jewish bible -- the only extant early texts are in Arabic and Ethiopic.

As such, it is noncanonical -- rejected by the early Christian compilers -- though, if one accepts the historicity of Genesis, this book might, with no more internal contradiction than usual, be made part of the same belief system.

One can freely delude one's self into believing and accepting anything that anyone might have written, said or put out for public consumption.

However, the same does not mean that what has been said, written or offered has any validity or reliable, verifiable truth contained within it.

This one hopes that you will be happy and safe in the comfort of your own dillusions within the frame work of your chosen mytholgoical fantasies.

One might also ask, where did this rather odd story you are citing come from? Such might be another intersting humanly conceieved and created mythology or "fairy tale" to read.

The Second Book of Adam and Eve details the life and times from Cain and his twin Sister Luluwa when they went away to the time that Enoch was taken by God.

This book is considered by many scholars to be part of the "Pseudepigrapha".

The "Pseudepigrapha" is a collection of historical biblical works that are considered to be FICTION. Because of that stigma, this book was not included in the compilation of the Holy Bible. This book is a written history of what happened in the days of Adam and Eve after they were cast out of the garden. Although considered to be Pseudepigrapha by some, it carries significant meaning and insight into events of that time. It is doubtful that these writings could have survived all the many centuries if there were no substance to them.

This book is simply a version of an account handed down by word of mouth, from generation to generation, linking the time that the first human life was created to the time when somebody finally decided to write it down. This particular version is the work of unknown Egyptians.

In some ways, I believe that had these additional parts of the Bible been true, it would have been included in the original version. I am not saying that additional Dead Sea Scrolls could not have been found, but over the thousands of years of interpretation have not included these parts so I am wondering if they might just be fiction. We always want to explain things that we don't understand. The Bible is full of literature and some ambiguity that can cause confusion, but my resolution to all of this is - pray that the Holy Spirit will divulge the truth to you so that you will not be confused by the Word of God.

Yes, this goes back to one of the Jewish traditions that Adam and Eve conceived only twins, male and female.

As a Christian, toolmaker and manufacturing engineer I do not believe this.

Cain and Abel were both boys and Cain slew Abel. God cursed Cain so that the ground would not give up it's increase for him and Cain could not earn a living in agriculture.

Cain turned to metallurgy and became a "black smith" or "tool maker". The progeny of Cain inherited this curse and cannot grow anything except grass, but, they are masters of the mechanical, artificers in stone and metals. The builders of things.

Of course, this is also legend and not in scripture.

Tubalcain is the artificer in metal who worked on Solomon's Temple and this is in scripture. His name infers he is descended from Cain.

PS: I remember reading this, this is one of those books that contradicts so many things. If I remember it is one of those that popped up for New Christians to "explain" things.

People, please remember that writers back two thousand years ago would write things and sell them just as they do today and people hungry for "knowledge" would buy these writings. Yes, even "dime novel" trash has been around for thousands of years.

The difference is in the "bibliography", does the work agree with and coexist with the recognized leading publications and work on the subject? Does it cite reasonable resources?

The standards for determining the validity of a publication have not changed much for thousands of years and the public at large is often willing to jump on board ideas in publications that have no traceable validity.

What's this from? It's a nice story, but it doesn't seem to fit with the purpose of the well-known versions. What is the moral supposed to be, anyway?

Adam and Eve's ability to have children isn't supposed to be a blessing, it's supposed to be a side-effect of having eaten from the tree of knowledge.

That is a false book. No truth about it. the true book about Adam and Eve is the bible.Cain and Abel are both male.

I don't know where this is from but I'm sure it is not reliable. However the bible does say they had plenty of Children. Who did Cain marry if they where the only two. And yes during that time incest was not known nor was it a sin. that did not happen until later in Gods revelation.

First of all there is not a book of Adam and Eve, in the Bible that is.

This is a writing borne out of pure fantasy. It is not the Bible nor does any of it line up with it.
