Can being on the bcp cause you to miss 2 periods?
Ok, I know that this may sound funny. I have been on bcp for 8 years. I only stopped to have my second child. But other then that I have been on some form of bcp.
This year was the first year that I missed 2 periods back to back while on the pill. My family doc. told me not to worry that I am ok. I have taking at least 6 ptest. Every test came back neg. I have even took a blood test. That came back neg. too. She is sending me to an obgy to get a ultrasound. So one please tell me that they have a clue what is going on. I am on Tri-sprintec tablets brr. I went on the web and looked up some comments about that med. I see that few people were having problem with it. The doc. thinks that it might be stress. I told her that I think its the med because I am gaining weight, have head aches, my blood pressure is going out of wack. She put me on Lisinopril 10mg for that.
Some one please let me know, if they are having problems with any of those med. that I have mention.
Thank a lot
I did spot one day. My doc. said that that might have been my period. Have anyone also hear some bull....
like that before.

different pills have differing amount of hormones. If you recently switched to Tri-sprintec then it could be that that pill is stronger than the previous one you were using. In which case I would wonder why you switched from one that had worked fine to a new one. If there was no problem on your end, go back to the original one its very possible that your doctor only switched you because of the last pharm-rep that passed by gave him/her a better bride (oops sorry I mean meaningful symposium trip to Hawaii).
I would also hope your doctor is completely sure you aren't pregnant as lisinopril should never be used by someone that is, could be or might become pregnant. It causes birth defects.
If your worried about becoming pregnant then you might want him to put you on a beta blocker instead of an ace inhibitor as the beta blocker wouldn't increase your odds of birth defects.

No, it's real possible. 3 years ago, I switched to another pill, and my periods all but stopped. I have one every year or maybe 2 a year, now. They say my hormones are fine, but I'm having hot flashes and other things associated with menopause. Who knows?

i dont know about the rest of the meds, but birth control won't do it because that is used to regulate periods. good luck
