Two spare rooms and need some regular cash!?

I own my own home outright and live here with my hubby and cats. Very soon I will have two spare bedrooms in my home when my kids move out. As I will be losing the rent I charge my kids for these rooms, I really need to raise some regular cash. I don't want to take a lodger, so can anybody suggest how I can use these rooms to raise some regular money legally?

We live in the UK and I only want sensible answers please.

Update:

This is US based I am in the UK. I do enough online paid surveys as it is.

Update 2:

Money$$ - Errrr read what I just said, I am in the UK!!!! Thank you!

Well, I don't know the laws in the UK, so I'm just brainstorming here...

Is there some kind of home-based business you would want to set up in these rooms? Sewing, making crafts, hairdressing, tutoring, home office for whatever type of sales or service would suit your area of education and the area in which you live...

Renting them out for other purposes, such as storage sites (I expect you would need extra insurance) or running a boarding kennel or grooming services for pets...

Using the rooms to set up a second-hand shop (find items cheaply or for free and then resell them, marking up the price to make a profit)...and/or could also use these rooms to store your finds and sell them online.

I would suggest researching different home-based business ideas at your local library.

The Bellagio and you're broke. I just stayed at the Excalibur for 40 bucks a night, including taxes and resort fees. The Bellagio will be on you very quickly. They have cameras in the hallways and elevators and security is trained to watch for such things. The hotel house keeping staff will also be watching. You won't have enough room to but your air beds in. The room beds will take up most of the floor space. Just do it right, get 3 rooms and have a good time. If you can't afford the Bellagio, find a place you can afford, there are great deals out there right now.

It doesn't sound like there a legal way if you're talking rent wise. You need to check about regulations, health code stuff, etc. Usually if you rent out rooms certain regulations must be met in each person's room, and also in the house.

A legal was would be if you start an at home business, then use the two rooms to store/make products.
