I think somebody is bitter....... Damn, that lady should just stop watching it if it pisses her off so much! It's TV!! It's a soap opera. It's not supposed to be like real life. The people who sit at home all day and don't work, that have time to kill are enjoying these plots, and the characters. I don't get to watch them unless I manage to stay awake till 11 pm, or read a recap..... she obviously needs a chill pill.
I disagree with what she said.
Elizabeth struggled as a single mother and put herself thru nursing school.
Carly has to put up with a mobster "baby dad", and a few ex husbands. That takes a strong woman and a lot of patience.
Laura was kickin *** on those adventures of Luke's she was "forced to participate in".
Alexis still has brass balls. She was battling cancer, raising two kids, and then found herself to be the mother of Sam, who she didn't even like in the first place. Then she had to deal with her, and all of her problems...including her daughter (Sam) screwing her (Alexis) husband. That's a lot to handle.
Robin is still a genius doctor. So what if she finally has a love life. She's battling HIV. That's a war in its self.
I think all of the characters on GH are exceptionally strong. Especially the women. I know they've done a few things that I can only think think about doing.

I absolutely disagree. First of all this isn't a reality show - it's a Soap Opera. Soap Opera's are generally about personal and relationship drama. Who isn't a little unstable or "weak" when a relationship has gone to hell?
Every single woman discussed in that posting was a professional. That means that these women are smart, strong, and perservered to the tops of their fields (yes, even Carly - she runs a successful hotel doesn't she?). So does the writer of that article think that just because these women are strong professionally, that they are automatically going to be strong in every other aspect of their lives? Maybe, but maybe not. After all it is a Soap Opera, every character starts out hard and softens up over time, and then something happens and their old hard as nails attitude comes back and reems someone to shreds.
I say boo to the article. If you don't like it, then change the channel!

Absolutely. But further they should say every one on GH is weak, in order to make Sonny and Jason look good.
More and more all the other characters (With the exception of Luke: Who in the hands of Tony Geary pretty much writes himself) are made to look weaker and weaker so the mobster can look better and better.
Why can't Liz and Lucky and Emily and Nicholas have a "Fun" Adventure. No instead Emily is sent to sleep with Sonny and Liz with Jason. And Lucky and Nic stand around waiting for them to be disregarded by the mob boys and come back home.
Jax has not really been able to do anything for years other then get Sonny's sloppy seconds.
At least Jerry is showing some spine
Alexis and Sam also do nothing but wait around for Sonny and Jason to give them some thing to do.
The show needs to build up all its characters and move away from the mob wars

Seems rather sensationalistic.... this is a SOAP OPERA and not a Biography of great women, with a warning to watchers " to not to be tried at home" so to speak. Yes, the women don't always do the right thing, but do WE in the real world??? Women don't need to be whiney, manipulative and sluts but we also don't need to shove the feminism down people's throats and cut men's masculanity off below the waist... It is meant to be an escape, a fantasy, silly, funny, etc. etc. This article acts like the characters are REAL PEOPLE who have let all of the rest of the Real People down....... Hey, I have enough "Real" in my life... I need a little escape..... And yes, it DOES sensationalize and romanticize the mob.... that has been portrayed for years in many movies, books, plays, etc.

I don't think it could have been put any better!! Carly especially is ridicules to watch. "Oh Jason don't worry I'll get you out of here. You need to be free some where not in prison." then she goes running bawling to Sonny to do something. I quit watching GH last week the show was pathetic before but after the hotel hold up by Jerry Jax its gotten that much worse. What is up with Allen haunting Tracy are the writers trying to be serious or is this a joke? I hope the rating drop miserably so then maybe perhaps the writers will pull their head out of their you know what and maybe write a decent soap again!!!

I think the article made some good points...it definitely could have been written better though! Carly annoys me to no end, and her obsession with Jason is just sad. Sam is pathetic, Liz is a shell and all the rest have given away their power as well.

I don't agree at all. I think life deals bad things and you have to deal with them. not everybody can be strong all of the time. We all have our weaknesses and just because they are characters in a story does not make them any different than the rest of us. Besides, I think it takes a strong woman to stand behind her man and support him without feeling insecure.

I think if you don't like it don't watch it. It is a soap opera not a inspirational show for feminist.
I like the show and have been watching it for over 20 years. It is just entertainment, nothing more.
People can find fault with everything today.

i agree a little bit of what she said in the end. of how jaosn put carly, sam and liz against each other. also about alexis, how she used to be strong but not anymore.
