What's more important: free abortions, or safe bridges?

Minnesota seems to have plenty of money for free abortions, but not enough to fix their failing bridges.

Obviously, safe bridges are more important than state funded abortions.

There is an average of 4,000 babies aborted in the US each and every day, since 1973 that total is very near 50,000,000.

Think about the deaths of our soldiers in Iraq, the number is near 3,800 since the war began, yet we exceed this number

every single day of the year with abortions.

There have been more deaths by abortion than all of the deaths of US soldiers, enemies and civilians in all of the wars that the US has been involved in since the American Revolution.

To make matters worse, nearly 50% of all abortions are for contraception.

To those that say if you don't want an abortion, do have one,

how about if you are inclined to have an abortion to have sex!!

Abortion does not make you un-pregnant, Abortion makes you the Mother of a DEAD Baby!!

3D Farms, the federal government gives grants to states to help repair bridges but most of these are matching grants so the state has to pay it's share

A 2005 federal inspection also rated the bridge structurally deficient, giving it a 50 on a scale of 100 for structural stability.

White House press secretary Tony Snow said while the inspection didn't indicate the bridge was at risk of failing, "if an inspection report identifies deficiencies, the state is responsible for taking corrective actions."

That's a DUMB question. It's going to cost Minnesotans between 150 & 200 MILLION dollars just to replace that one bridge ALONE, & another 100 to 150 Million to inspect & repair all the rest. A few "drops in the bucket" from Abortions- is not going to be of any help. What about the 35 Million Dollars Minnesota taxpayers are shelling out to finance the Iraq War EVERY MONTH?! Wouldn't just HALF of that staying in the State- hold the bridges up?! If You really want to do something "constructive" -the Republican Convention is "coming to town" in Minnesota next August; put the "flea in THEIR ear"- to stop throwing YOUR money away in D.C.- and keep it home, where it can do some good.

I see $10 billion spent monthly on the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and wonder how much of the infra-structure of the US has suffered because of these pointless conflicts which seem to do more to line the pockets of Bush and Cheney big business buddies. Most state highway funds are matched by the federal government, especially for interstate highways.

Think of all the people that might have been on that bridge if those children had been born. MN should be congradulated for saving lives.

Although it may have been a federal highway, does that excuse the state of MN from letting it decay so that in the event a situation occurs, they can blame federal governmant.

Liberal thinking is so bass ackwards, it makes my head hurt trying to understand it.

We have to be very careful to maintain a balance of safety to freedom. Its funny you mention it now, but our freedom has been eroding for years, its not a new development. Such as kids are now no longer free to ride bikes without helmets (nor are many motorcycle riders). We arent free to drive a car without a seatbelt on. We arent free to drive at any speed we want (or while intoxicated). Etc. There has to be a resonable balance in my opinion, but it does disturb me to see the number of freedoms that are always under assault (its amazing that we are still abel to bear arms, it really is)

7.2 million on abortions, 3.092 billion on transportation... somehow that doesnt seem out of whack to me...

so for every 429 dollars spent on a road... the state spends 1 dollar to help rape victims, incest victims, and people who are not ready to have children abort...

You should choose to not have an abortion if you feel this way.
