How do I pick my daughter up from the airport?

My 17-year-old daughter went to Thailand with a family we know who are missionaries. She will be flying back alone and arriving at the Atlanta airport next week. I need to pick her up, but don't know how to find her. This was her first flight, and I've only flown once a long time ago, and was with someone else. So I know absolutely nothing about how airports work. All I've been able to find out so far is that I can park in hourly parking. But how do I know where to go? The airport is huge! She will be flying Delta.

You'll need the flight number and arrival time. You should the Delta website before leaving, as many international flights are delayed. Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta is one of the largest and busiest airports in the world. Delta operates the world's largest airline hub in the world from this airport. Delta's domestic flights are housed in Concourse T, your specific flight should be in Internation Concourse, Concourse E, if it is coming directly from Thailand. Hope this helps.

First, find out what concourse she'll be flying in to. For example, A, B, C, etc. Next, find out which gate. This will give you a good idea of where she'll be coming in from. This would mean A13 (Concourse A, gate 13). Then, either find the checked luggage for her particular airline, or find the exit to security where she'll be exiting from. Wherever she's coming in from, there will be a security checkpoint. She'll have to exit through there, and most likely, will have to go to her checked bags. So, I'd say meet her at checked baggage or the exit to security. Because of the security measures at American airports now, parents can't usually get a gate or escort pass to go to the gate to meet family members.

My personal suggestion to you, and you don't have to do this, but it may make your life a lot easier, is to call Delta and speak to an airline representative either at the Delta ticket counter or baggage claim. There should be a map of the airport detailing where essentially everything is. I really hope this helps.

I hope she had a good time in Thailand!

Find out which flight she is on; that way, you can call or check online and find out when it comes in and whether there will be any delays. After you have parked, go to an information kiosk at the airport. They should be able to direct you to the TVs that show arrivals. Then find out where her bags are coming in. Meet her at baggage claim. That simple! Happy reunion!

If you know the flight number of your daughter's flight, you can go to Delta's website to find out what time the fligh arrives. That info should also tell you what terminal and gate the plane will be at. Then just go to the arrival level and wait.
