do you think i should use a handbag or a purse?

I would take either depending on when you will get back. if it is a over night trip or more than i would take the handbag or a back pack. but if its for a few hours i would take the purse.

Last fall I found the greatest purse. It was a purse (handbag) within a purse. The handbag is big enough to hold my checkbook, credit cards, cell phone, change purse, and a few other small items. It has small retractable handles and it fits into the center of the larger purse which has nice sized zippered sections and a snap type closure. I can take the handbag out of the purse easily when I get out of the truck and leave the bigger purse (with all that extra stuff we carry)under the seat.

If I were you I would check out this option and see if it would work. I bought mine at Bealls, but have also seen them in several western wear stores. It's great for traveling and for everyday use.

You should carry a handbag because you shouldn't let a career change you. Yes keep all the girly girl stuff in it if you want because its not like people can see whats in the purse with laser vision.

A small purse would be cute, but looking at a handbag holding more, I'll opt for handbag.

I would take a small purse that could be slung cross-body for when you have to walk to and from rest areas, restaurants, gas stations, etc.

I've driven cross country many times, alone, and feel it's a good thing to have your hands free and be alert whenever you are travelling by yourself.

Congrats! I drove tractor trailer yrs ago before they even had female showers at the truck stops! I found a hobo bag the best. It holds a towel and personal items as well. Good luck - and stay out of the fast lane! MebbyAnne
