A need for more interesting questions. How does your religion promote peace?
Not much detail needed here. I've had this Christian song going through my head and it got me to thinking how each and every religion is working towards peace on earth. Can you also guess the song?

Buddhist- The main belief is Ahimsa- do not harm sentient beings. I think most religions promote peace in their own way as many of them include some variation of the golden rule.
I would guess Let There Be Peace on Earth or My Sweet Lord is the song going through your head.

To be really honest I don't see religion promoting any peace not with all the many different kinds and how everyone believes, and the peace would be from God..Peace like the river, is the one that came to me..

I wouldn't say that the church (that is in this context, the institution to which believers in Jesus Christ belong) necessarily does much to promote peace, but I believe that individual members and groups within the institution of the church do a great deal, from reaching out to impoverished areas to protesting civil injustices.
That said, there are also many individuals and groups within the church that promote hate and bigotry, which is very sad.
Jesus was called the "Prince of Peace." If Christians today really tried to follow his example (and believe me, I'm not one to criticize), the world should be much more peaceful.
I'm guessing the song wasn't John Lennon's "Imagine," hah.

God's peace in the heart of every believer is the best peace to have. There won't be peace
on earth until Jesus returns. So to pray for peace
really means to pray for his return.
To guess the song:Peace in the Valley

Budhhism is THE only Religion in the WORLD which Preaches and PRACTISES Peace-Practises is very Important. Buddhism never initiated ,goaded, coaxed. fought Two World wars.Because of their "Peace" philosophy their Leader is a "Refugee' in another country.Emperor Asoka of Maurya dynasty ruled the entire Indian Sub-continent and victorious in every war he fought, the most ferocious one is "kalinga war" Onsseeing so many soldiers dead,he became a Buddhist -and his two children also. They lost the whole kingdom after becoming Buddhists ,because Emperor Asoka dismantled the entire Army and his enemies ruined him and hids family..I am NOT a Budhist.I am a HINDU.

In so many ways I can't list 'em all here, but His Holiness the Dalai Lama is an up and front runner for peace, Venerable Thubten Chodron does her "stuff" for her Abbey and takes care of prisoners in our prison system, Lama Zopa Rinpoche has given us prayers for peace and a sutra to recite, Thich Nhat Hanh is constantly protesting for peace... and the list just keeps on trucking.

Is the song, Give Us Clean Hands? my religion promotes peace with the "love your neighbor as yourself" mindset

Is that a more interesting question? Than what, I wonder.
No, atheism doesn't promote peace as religions do - which is, as far as I can see - by killing everyone who isn't peaceful like them.

Well as a firm believer in treeism, we first aim to promote peace to the trees.
