Missed Miscarriage?
I've experienced one before, I was 10wks along and the baby had died at 6wks and I needed a D&C. But I had no signs of it.
I am 7wks pregnant with our 3rd child and had light spotting last night, but no cramping. I went to the ER and they said my blood tests came back great but they could not detect a heartbeat on the ultrasound and the baby was only measuring 2 days behind how far along I was supposed to be do.
Anyway.....Do you have to have a D&C with every missed miscarriage or can they give me something so I can do it naturally.
We had an ultrasound on July 30th and the baby measured 6weeks\5days and we saw the heartbeat then. But since I'm almost 8wks and the heartbeat is gone, I know that I have lost the baby.
This is our 5th miscarriage.
I just went to my dr to have another ultrasound and "confirm" what the ER said about no heartbeat and they found a heartbeat! My baby is doing just fine!!! Thanks so much to everyone who answered me!

Some women just spot during pregnancy. If your blood tests are fine then I would wait to see your doctor before you decide anything. It is possible you just weren't far enough along to hear the heartbeat. I think I was about 8 weeks when the doctor heard the heartbeat.
I have also had a miscarriage and passed it naturally without having to have drugs or a D & C.

I Had A Miscarriage @ 8 Weeks 4 Days... I Didn't Have To Have A D & C Because My Body Got "Rid" Of Everything On It's Own... I Could Feel A Large Clot So I Had To Push To Get It Out And I Knew It Was My Baby :(
Keep Going Back To The Hospital... Everytime You Bleed Or If It Doesn't Go Away...
I'm Pregnant Again And I Bled Around 5-7 Weeks For Almost A Week And Then VERY Heavy At Around 16 Weeks For 8 Days... My Baby Was Fine And My HCG Levels Never Dropped...

im so sorry. i had a missed miscarriage 2 years ago, baby died at 9 weeks and i didnt find out till the 12 week scan.
i think it would really depend on if your body passed it naturally on its own, they may leave you for a short time and if not then itd be anoth d&c as it can cause serious infections if left too long.
sorry. xxx

When I had my miscarriage I passed it naturaly. I was 6 weeks along. If you are more than 10 weeks then I would have one to be on the safe side. It can cause you to get sick if you don't. Good Luck!

It will depend on your circumstance, really. Before you worry, remember that heart beat cannot be found until the 7th week, so if you're 2 days before then it could be possible that you still have a fetus.
Talk to your reguar doctor though to get more answers.

I'm sorry to hear about your bad news, but more than likely you are going to need another D&C, its all depending on your circumstances. I know its painful, but if you're strong, than you'll get through it! Good luck!

I had one as well and had a d&c afterwards. This is to be sure your uterus is completely clean and no room for infection to start up.
