Bad car smell. A whole carton of cream spilled on the floor carpet of my car?

Though I washed the carpet and the affected floor mat with clothes detergent and water but now 3 days later when you first open the car door it smells like stale baby puke. I know it needs something more than a product that will just only mask the smell like Fabreeze.

Take it to a car wash that has a shampooer. Leave the windows open to let it dry. After it is dry sprinkle some carpet fresh, and vacuum. good luck...:)

Odor ban to clean carpet, then here's an inexpensive and fragrance free solution that is perfect for your problem. - I know many other people that use it. It is a natural fragrance free carbon product called FRIDGE IT odor absorbers. It is a little purple cube with an incredible activated carbon filter inside that is really, really, great and eliminates the odors and for a long time. It works so much better than baking soda all those sprays, and fragrances that just cover up smells and doesn't get rid of them. Just put one inside car and trunk. Might need a couple extra. No spills or chemicals or powder to worry about. Each only costs a couple of dollars. I use this product everywhere including car(smoke and pet smells), storage, closets, my fridge and also under sinks, near trash and have friends that use it on cat litter box and also diaper pails - it's that good. I really recommend it. You can buy it in kitchen gadget sections in stores like linens and things. I also think camping world sells it and Internet at customerservice@innofresh.com.

    Definitely worth trying

One item I tried helped. I spilled sphagetti sauce all over my trunk carpeting, and boy, did it stink! Get boxes of baking soda and sprinkle it liberally all over your carpet and let it marinate for a few hours (ideally overnight) and vaccuum it up the next day with a good vaccuum. The smell should be gone. If not, try Plan B - take it to a good handwash place & explain your problem. It'll cost more which is why I would try several boxes of baking soda (supermarkets) first.

Unfortunately, you will probably have to take the entire carpet and and take it to a car wash and power wash it. Or pour , yes pour water mixed with baking soda on it , about 1 gallon. Then scrub and vacuum out with a wet dry vac. Then sprinkle it with baking soda and keep your windows down and let it air dry. Then spray with Febreeze. Or the most expensive way, take it to a car detailer in your area.

Same thing happened to me, with a quart of milk on my back seat and floor mat. I took baking soda and let it stay there for almost three days. Vacuumed it up and I have never smelled it again.

Borax is your best bet. The instructions on how to use it for sour milk smells is on the side. But, I've made a paste from borax and water, agitated it into the stain, let it dry and vacuumed it up, viola odor is gone. Works better than any thing else I've tried on dairy products.

If you can take the rug out do so; hose it off. air it outside for a few days If you cannot take it out the only thing you can do is rewash it again with lemon scented ammonia, and rinse really well; spray with Febreeze and air out the car as much as possible.

Sprinkle with baking soda too! vacuum and dry well in air.

To rid the smell you need to use a sterilizing solution. Milton is very good for this, or any other sterilizing solution made for sterilizing new born baby´s drinking bottles

try putting baking soda on it and letting it set
