    Well no but ive worked as a team on a project i wasnt thrilled about. If the project manager works right a long with the team and i, it lessens the chances of people bit ching about what they have to do. As a rule as a manager, i would never make someone do something i wouldnt do myself. But hey work isnt always fun, sometimes you have to do stuff you dont really want to but its not like your doing it for free or alone. Tell them that, if thats not good enough fire them.

    When I knew that they weren't thrilled about this presentation we once had because of a lot of justifiable reasons. I just gave them the cold hard facts. That it was a "Dog eat dog" world and that we were assigned it because we were the best for the task, that we should be objective and not subjective about it. I also added that either we do a great job or look for another job.

    It isn't morale boosting but sometimes a dose of reality works wonders too, especially here in our country where efficiency really matters.

    For women on the team, explain WHY the project is needed, i.e. how it would benefit the team, the company, the country. Social awareness convinces women. Show them that, whatever your title, you are a team member.

    For men, explain what they would get from the project, i.e. monetary benefits if there is any, status, experience, standing out as a performer, boost to career. "We will show them we CAN do this project and we WILL!" must convince men. appeal to their competetive edge and show them you are the boss if necessary.

    convinced my homemates to wash the dishes.

    Simply by explaining the situation we were in;

    " I can't cook if you don't wash the dishes"

    threatening also works. But you should sound firm...

    " Wash the dishes or I will kick your asses so bad..."

    and you should make an illustration of what u could do;

    "... you all know what happened to our door when it resisted opening. If you don't want to share the same destiny, move your assses NOW!..."
