Bathing strips the coat of natural oils, so don't do it often!

Why does your dog smell? Do you leave her in the backyard all-day? What is she getting into? Dogs don't just smell, there's a reason. Figure out that reason, problem solved.

What breed is your dog. Some breeds and some dogs just have a natural stink about them. We had a poodle mix that stunk awful. Even bathes didn't help. We tried using the doggie deodorant spray, which did help some. We also changed its food and that also helped. The odor lessened to a bearable state. Make sure that the smell isn't coming from the mouth. May have bad teeth. Or it isn't dog farts. They are the worst!!!!! Arg..... Canned food will do this.

Find the source of the stink...stinky ears can be an ear infection, stinky breath means your dog may need a dental cleaning, or have dirty lip folds, stinky butt, with scooting may mean impacted anal glands, stinky skin with itching can mean mange or a skin infection. Bathing should be done no more often than bi-weekly unless your vet tells you otherwise...and you should use a dog product, not a human one if possible.

Some breeds can be a bit more smelly in general...many of the hound breeds and also Chesapeke Retrievers have an aroma all thier own, and you probably won't be able to make them odorless

My dog sheds alot and is very smelly too! She is an black lab and an indoor/outdoor dog. She mostly stays inside though. She has dry skin and she bites her skin when she itches. I don't know what to do to get my dog to stop stinking either. We usually bathe her once a week, but it is hard to stop. Im not sure what to do either.

limit the grain content in your dog's food by either going grain-free or foods with no corn, wheat, or soy in them.

The overproduction of yeast make their ears stinky and their entire body can stink when the food is loaded with dyes and preservatives. Foods like Beneful, Iams, Science diet, Ol Roy...(the list continues) are hard on a dog's body because of the chemicals and high amounts of grains they put in these foods.

After you improve the animal's food I use baby wipes in between baths and also in between bath spray for dogs by Lambet Kay. It smells wonderful!

Good luck. Stinky dogs are not fun ;)

Give her a bath.. Geez. How complicated is that?

Also, groom her on a regular basis...keep her brushed to get rid of excess dead hair and skin cells. Have her teeth checked...bad breath can be a sign of tooth decay or poor dental care.

Don't feed your dog table scraps. It can make them stinky and definitely makes their poo stinkier.

Otherwise bathe the dog occasionally (bathing them too often is bad for their skin) and give her an occasional chew toy to clean her teeth and improve her breath.

If her odor is really bad, you might want to talk to your vet.

I use a conditioning spray that smells like lavendar between baths. Also cleaning out the ears if they are floppy will help too.

Try bathing it once a week with a doggie shampoo and groom daily.
