New York City'ers.... How long did it take you to get to work this morning?

It took me FOUR HOURS to get to Wall Street from Queens. If the MTA can't handle rain and make service run smoothly... how dare they demand a fare hike??? Say no to the fare hike!!

I leave early and still got caught. I only go 4 stops, but after waiting 30 minutes I went home. Since they do not have the money for the equipement they need to keep the trains running we should deny them more money? That's the solution. $2 is TOO CHEAP (and with all of the discounts and tax breaks if your company offers them, you can pay around $1/ride). Let them raise the fares to what they need (but put some people in to make sure they do not waste it)

It took me 3 hours and 45 minutes to get to the Flatiron district from the Bronx. I don't think it's necessary to have a fair hike, because service isn't all that great. However, due to the conditions this morning, it's nothing they can do about it. They cannot control weather.

I didn't even bother.....The subway was closed down when i went at 1pm..We are so vulnerable to these type of harsh weather...

Traffic is still insane right now.......afternoon rush is going to be hell aswell.

About the Fare Hike.....I know we don't want it... it is expensive as it is....But if it means they are going to use the extra cash flow to improve service...perhaps it may not be a bad idea....But I don't trust the MTA to begin with ...who knows what their intentions truly are....

I left for work at 7:30am and there were no trains at Union Square, so I walked to 6th Ave. and 14th, no trains (f,v). I moved on to 7th and 14th and no trains (1,2,3) and finally I got to 8th ave, where supposedly the A train was running and my monthly metro card was out and I didn't have my new one with me, I just decided to screw it and walked all the way back to 1st ave to my apt.

So, after coming home and taking another shower, sleeping for another two hours, I had a wonderful, carefree summer day in the city!

I couldn't agree with you more. They keep raising the fares, but the lines keep getting slower. I cannot count that amount of times I've been in a rush and we get stalled in a tunnel, face in someones armpit, sweating, listening to "Ding ....There is a train in front of us, Please be patient". Oh, and I splurged on a cab today. I don't live that far away and it wasn't worth risking the subway.

A 2 hour commute on NJ Transit,, I got stuck in Hoboken because the PATH was suspended. I took the ferry to the WTC, hoping to to catch SOMETHING heading uptown. No luck. I walked from the WTC to my office on 26th street.

    And my feet STILL hurt!!!

Source(s): I should have just jumped on the next train from Hoboken back home.

Took me 4 and a half hours round trip, but I drove. I saw a bunch of traffic cops standing around doing nothing instead of directing traffic!!!!
