Top Chef - Why hasn't Sara been eliminated yet??

Seriously, she's done nothing but cook sucky food the entire season. Is Padma playing favorites??

Examples

her comfort food chicken a la king sucked

her pineapple semifredo sucked

I can't even remember anything else she did as standing out. What is the frickin' deal!?!?

Sara is one of the worst chefs on the show. She hasn't put out anything impressive and doesn't have an interesting personality. I thought she would go last week instead they sent Joey who has been among the top chefs more than once. I don't know what the judges were thinking.

There are three problems with judging Top Chef from home.

First, a key component of food is taste. While we can tell how food looks (and whether it is something we would be interested in trying) from home, we have no way of knowing (other than the comments) how it actually tastes.

Second, as the recent discussion/reunion show emphasized, we only get to hear some of the comments. As such, while we hear some problems with an individual dish, we don't get to hear them all. So we do not really know how bad the judges thought a particular dish was.

Third, (and I disagree with this rule), as revealed in the recent discussion show, each challenge is decided on an individual basis. Thus, there is no penalty for being consistently near the bottom. You just need one dish in each elimination challenge to be worse than yours. (In my opinion, this rule is what kept Mike alive for such a long time in Season 2. If there were a cumulative effect, he would have been gone three or four weeks earlier.)

Being relatively mediocre is enough to survive through the middle of the season. The goal in the first half is to avoid standing out for the wrong reason.

I was thinking that last week. All the other Chef's up for elimination last week had won a challenge except her. She has not even won a quick fire yet they kept her. I personally didn't get it.

I know they say judging is on a show by show basis but still she sucked last week. She didn't do much and what she did contribute, Saffron and the multi colored pasta were both bad choices according to the judges.

I felt she should of went home.

Some people just seems to fly low under the radar with mediocre dishes. It will all work out in the end though when all that is left are great cooks and she has to still try to keep hers up there with that crowd.

Well, I gotta run it's on RIGHT NOW!!

I think Sara gets booted tonight; Her food was not that great at all and Padma & others should have booted her already.

The Bravo producers have a big influence, and if they think someone will be interesting to watch they'll keep them around. That's why they got rid of Sandee so early. She was too nice. Nice = boring. Same thing with Camille and Lia.
