Can you assist with search for 'minimal life'?
About 10 years ago, I saw a book about 'minimal living'...that is, minimal shelter, clothing, and food and requiring very little money to just plain live in our hectic society. I've searched Google, Amazon, and other bookstores and can't find much of anything about that subject. But, I know that there are people who are interested in such things. I'm very interested in living a less complicated and costly lifestyle. Can you suggest any titles for study? Thanks!!

There was a book written back in the 70's by a 19 year old woman named Dolly Freed called Possum Living. It has somewhat of a cult following. The subject of the book is how to get through life without a job and almost no money.
If you find a copy on the Internet they start at about $25.00 and go up. I found one in a Thrift Shop in my home town. The book is printed on line in it's entirety at this site.

First quit eating meat or dairy or anything from an animal. Eat some raw fruit and some raw vegetables. Don't go to extremes--eat some cooked. If such a diet can make sick people well according to books Health food stores sold (in past if not present, ) and Hoxey clinic was making people well before it was a crime to save lives before paying the medical profession for doing 100% of it, why can't you stay healthy choosing the most healthful food from supermarkets?
Then--you don't need to live in a fancy house you must owe money on. Buy a mobile home -- 2nd hand if you choose. Live in that. Don't require expensive jewelry. Don't require expensive pets that need expensive grooming. Don't smoke--it necessitates costly repairs to medical profession. When you think you're getting old, don't bother with a costly face lift, and leave your nose (etc.) the way it is, forget plastic surgery. Be kind to everyone and you won't have to repair their treatment of you. Get reasonable exercise. Have nothing to do with costly street drugs or whatever they call illegal drugs. Get your kicks out of improving on the talents your Creator gifted you with. Do a lot less for yourself and more for others and you will need less costly investment in protection of all sorts, but don't go to extremes, as there are always crazy foolish people around you and all of us. Get your kicks out of giving to others and helping others, and don't be competitive in order to glorify yourself. Shower daily. Eat simple food. Wear plain clothing, something clean every day. Don't mess with beauticians; do your own hair. Don't bet on the horses or dogs. Put up a solid cement wall around your property and lock everything up at night, and when you're not at home. Drive carefully and follow reasonable conduct--don't talk on a cell phone while driving or do anything else to get involved in an accident. Do a work that you love regardless of pay. Marry only for love -- money should have nothing to do with it.

Yes the cost of most things are expensive, but this is life an it does cost a lot of money to live. it is the habil of some people, to spend as much money as they want, to buy something they think is better. This results into greed, and there are a ton of greedy people in the world. Don't worry how people want to spend their money on, it's a part of life. For some people, spending more money brngs them better things, and that's fine to them.

dont read it, do it.
move to the country, find some cheap land, buy it,
live on it.
It really depends on your personality, most folks cant hack it.
