Can you tell me how to add restrictions to the Guest account in Windows XP?
I'm trying to hide certain icons and keep the wallpaper from being changed on the Guest account and I can't figure it out. Do you know how to do this? Thanks in advance!! :)
Thank you, Stratocaster. I was able to get to the Computer Management area, but there was no option for Local Users and Groups so I wasn't able to proceed. If I go to it through the Control panel all I can do is turn the guest account on or off or change the picture for it. I can't restrict or customize it. Please advise! Thanks! :)
While attempting to do this I am logged on as the Administrator.

As Administrator, Go into Control Panel
In the address bar, add "\Administrative Tools" to the end of the address (without quotes). (The url would then look like "Control Panel\Administrative Tools"
Double-Click Computer Management
Click "Local Users and Groups"
Open up users
That's one way to mess around with the guest account
You can also go into Control Panel, User Accounts, then edit from there

maximum classes are obtainable to all clientele. some classes, once you install them will ask "Make obtainable to all clientele?". A customer account can basically get entry to the folders in that account. Open up folders view in My information or My pc and enhance the C: force and look on the folder information and Settings. you will see the person names. A constrained person can basically get entry to those folders below his call. An administrator can get entry to each thing.

It sounds like you don't have admin privileges or you would be able to do those things. But you should be able to make another, 2nd Guest account or limited account
