How many people have been wrongly arrested by the Police?
How many policeman have lied about it. I was sat quietly on a wall across a street from where my children were living in the hope of getting a glimpse of them. A policecar roared up the
officer got out, he manhandled me very roughly by my clothes.
They took me to a policestation where I was kept in a cell overnight. The next morning taken to court in a group 4 van. When we got before the judge I calmly explained what happened. He said what am I to do lock up a mother for loving her children give her back her stuff and tell her to get the bus home no charges brought. I was so traumatised at everything that was happening at the time. I told people but as usual nothing was done. I still have nightmares about this. I have never been in any kind of trouble other than getting divorced which I had every right to do.What do you think about this

My husband is in court on monday for supposidly assaulting 4 police officers.
I was there to prove it didn't happen but my statement counts for nothing.
They are trying to cover there own backs because the cs gas they sprayed him with was out of date and has left him with severe burns on 40% of his body.
I'm worried sick of the outcome.

Resisting arrest is against the regulation, whether you stand up to applying judo or by punching the police officer interior the face, its the comparable factor. i did no longer watch the video, yet ingesting alcohol in public is unlawful in maximum places, so the cop had reason to arrest the guy. the guy replaced into breaking the regulation by ingesting in public -- and replaced into in all threat appearing under the effect of alcohol and disorderly besides -- yet another misdemeanor. sure, if the police attempt to arrest you, you're envisioned to cooperate and not combat back -- whether you recognize martial arts.

You don't say whether you had a court order preventing you going within a certain distance of your children and if you did, whether you were in breach of that order.
Nevertheless, being manhandled by the police and kept in cells overnight is not acceptable. I think the judge should have made the police apologise to you. I am not ant-police, far from it, but it is worrying to know that they sometimes feel they are beyond the law that they are supposed to uphold.

All our police forces are riddled with criminals and liars who cover up for each other. To make matters worse the magistrates courts (which were fomerly known as police courts) cannot give a fair trial to those pleading not guilty. Over 96% of magistrates court trials result in a guilty verdict. These summary trials are a joke, Robert Mugabe would be proud of them. Where possible, defendants should opt for Crown Court trial. They risk a heavier penalty is convicted, but have a 50/50 chance of acquittal in a jury trial.

It would appear from listening to your version of events that you were doing absolutely nothing wrong and the Officer concerned arrested you illegally. What you haven't explained is that the Arresting Officer has to justify an arrest to a Custody Sergeant, that is then reviewed by an Inspector and after that an independant CPS laywer has to authorise charging. So the arresting officer was wrong, the Custody Sergeant has unlawfully inprisoned you, the Inspector has sanctioned it and an independant lawer has authorised and illegal charge. Yeah right!

To answer your question, yes, I have been wrongly arrested before and I have been arrested because I deserved to be.I have been harrassed by the cops more than anything and it's not fun. There are good cops and bad cops and sadly me and millions like me have come in contact with the bad ones.

Not to generalize, but everyone who is arrested feels they shouldn't be arrested. Then, they always feel they are mistreated. I am a Juvenile PO, and we go out after 9pm looking for kids on probation out after curfew. When we find them, they are arrested. Every one of them has a "reason" for being out. Then, they always say we mishandled them.
Same song, different verse.

I could recount an incident that happend to me and another that happend to my brother but it wont change anything. You could lodge a complaint wich has to be looked into by the police complaints authority so give it a go.

I suggest you go to court to get access to your kids.
Everyone who is arrested but not charges is in theory wrongly arrested. Thousands of people a year.
