Intense itching of labia?
I treated for Yeast infection a week ago, I do not have crabs, and although I am positive for HPV, I have not had an outbreak since 1982, and there's no sign of it.
What else could this be? I scratched hard enough to bleed the other night......

Bacterial Vaginitis? Similar symptoms to a yeast infection, but is caused by bacteria not fungus, so yeast infection creams don't work on it.
The only way to treat it is with a Rx, so you may need to go see your Gyno, to determine EXACTLY what it is, and get you appropriate treatment.
Good luck

"Vaginitis" is a medical term used to describe various conditions that cause infection or inflammation of the vagina. Vulvovaginitis refers to inflammation of both the vagina and vulva (the external female genitals). These conditions can result from an infection caused by organisms such as bacteria, yeast or viruses, as well as by irritations from chemicals in creams, sprays or even clothing that is in contact with this area. In some cases, vaginitis results from organisms that are passed between sexual partners. Abnormal vaginal discharge with an unpleasant odor. Symptoms include:
Burning during urination.
Itching around the outside of the vagina.
Discomfort during intercourse.
Your doctor can determine what is causing it as there are many factors of vaginitis, and prescribe the right meds. Also have a Chlamydia test done to rule this out.

INSTEAD OF ASKING US UP HERE YOU NEED TO BE ASKING YOUR DOCTOR THE SAME QUESTION. HPV CAN BREAK OUT ON THE INSIDE JUST AS WELL AS THE OUTSIDE AND CAN CAUSE DISCOMFORT AND ITCHING OF THE LABIA. IF YOU HAD TO SCRATCH HARD ENOUGH TO BLEED , THERE IS ONE HELL OF AN INFECTION GOING ON. YOU NEED TO GO AND GET EXAMINED AND A CULTURE TAKEN TO FIND OUT JUST WHAT IS GOING ON. WE PEOPLE UP HERE CAN'T HELP YOU, BUT YOUR DOCTOR CAN. REMEMBER ALWAYS PRACTICE SAFE SEX, AND ALWAYS LET YOUR PARTNER KNOW THAT YOU HAVE TESTED POSITIVE FOR HPV, SO THEY WILL KNOW WHAT THEY ARE GETTING INTO AND DECIDE HOW THEY WANT TO CONTINUE. REMEMBER THE MORE STD'S HPV ETC YOU ARE INFECTED WITH BRINGS YOU ONE STEP CLOSER TO HIV. GOOD LUCK

Don't scratch. Have you used a new soap or detergent? Are your pants to tight that they rub up against you. If everything is still the same then go to your Dr. There is also over the counter meds to help relieve the itching. Why not try some.

It sounds like your yeast infection might be back or you could be having an allergic reaction to something. If you have changed soap or washing detergents that could be it. You may want to call your doctor to be sure though.

The fact that you are asking this question on yahoo shows that you probably don't take good care of your private matters. This is something that should make you go straight to a doctor. No one can say for sure exactly why you are itching. Go back to your doctor to see if you have another type of infection that requires different medication. If necessary, get another opinion. Practice safe sex.

omg, this happen to me once. i was totally freaked out because it was just on the outside. not like a normal infection which affects the inside. anyway, i called my mom and the same thing had happened to her before. she said to try a medicated douche (walgreens, cvs, etc.) and focus on the outside instead of the inside. also try vagisil. if that doesn't work go to the doc.

Maybe your yeast infection came back. I would say go to the gyno if you are concerned. Only they can tell.

Did you ever get checked for diabetes? Yeast infections (constantly) are usually a symtom of this disease.
