Several years ago (in 1999) I met this girl on-line from the DC/Maryland area. We belonged to an on-line social community for a few years, and hit it off. So we decided to meet up (on black bikers weekend) to party, go shopping & site-seeing. ((We were strictly friends, no hanky-panky.))

At anyrate, it was a HORRIBLE experience. We went shopping at some hole in the wall outlet mall, she & her boyfriend were having some sort of sex marathon (as I sat in the living room) and to make matters worse -- I had to sleep on her pull-out couch w/ her 2 cats & a dog. And as far as site-seeing, I took pictures from the backseat of her car on the way back to the airport!!! WTF???

Needless to say, as soon as I boarded the plane to leave, I deleted her # from my cell phone & never spoke to or heard from her again!!

With all that said, I'm not opposed to meeting people online. But I will definitely make all of my own housing & transportation arrangements!! I really learned from my mistake on that one..

I met this girl I had been chatting with and corresponding with via email for about 5 years awhile ago. We had also spoken on the phone two or three times. We went to see the Borat movie and get lunch. It was okay, but kind of weird. We have barely communicated since, so I guess she doesn't like me so much or something. That was something others had warned about that met online buddies. They sometimes are way more boring in person. I mean, I for example will write almost anything no matter how rude or ridiculous, but I won't say these things (unless I know you really well, like on the level of my brother or husband). So I tend to seem like a totally different person.

Yes I attended a meet and greet of an online club that I am in in 2003. We had a great weekend and I am still in touch with a few members

    Yeah

A Japanese guy met me on an ESL site, and wanted me to teach him English. I told him I'm not native speaker, but he didn't mind that. My friend also had found a student through this site, so I thought "Why not"

Well, he not only had no intention of studying English, but attacked me at home, when I let him use the bathroom (I'm kind person , but since then even if they are dying in front of my door I won't open it)
