lots of stain removal products available in cleaning section of supermarkets. There are stain removal soaps for hand washing , stain removal sprays for use before machine washing. You do need to read labels. Blood needs to be soaked immediately or as soon as possible in cold water and use the stain removal soap. Bleach also but care needs to be taken with regards to the type of fabric as some chemicals can affect fabrics.

If the stain hasn't been set by drying, I usually use Dawn dishsoap for stains like grease, blood, or grass stains. Rub it in the stain, let it sit for a little while, then wash.

another old time remedy is to pre-soak really bad stains in cold water with a liquid detergent rubbed into the stain. This works only if the stain has not been already washed and dried in the dryer.

Not sure on other stains, but use peroxide on the blood. Dab it on a white cloth and blot at the stain, comes right off. That works on carpets too.

surprisingly, if the blood is your own, the enzymes in your saliva helps break down the stain, so you can pretreat with your spit (gross, I know, but it works) and then wash in hot water.
for other hard to remove stains, like make-up, grass or oil, I find that the appropriate Carbona Stain Devil works like magic.
