weather in hawaii right now?
This is for those of you who live in Hawaii (either Oahu, Maui, Kauai, or Big Island). I'm taking a trip there today and will hit all 4 islands by next week. I know there's a hurricane there right now, but I want to know what the weather is like, should I still pack shorts and tank tops or jackets and sweaters?

It's 9:00 am HST. By 2:00 am today Flossie was a tropical storm. Here on Oahu, we are expecting winds out of the east 18 mph with high gust to 25-30mph. Scattered showers, especially in the mountains and on the windward side. Today's high is expected to be near 81. Partly cloudy and scattered showers is pretty much the forecast for the next 7 days, with day time highs in the low to mid 80's and over night lows in the mid 70's. Tanks and Shorts will be fine, but bring a pair of jeans and a light weight jacket for night time activities, because the winds will be cool.

I live on the Big Island of Hawaii. Hurricane Flossie was supposed to hit the Big Island, but never did. Here it is as sunny as can be. It will be nice weather! However, just incase pack a sweater and a pair of pants. Hawaii is going to be beautiful! You will have an amazing time. even if you are in the midst of the hurricane - its still HOT and muggy. But, no worries - today in Oahu, it was drizzly with sun and a HUGE rainbow. :) :)
