Am I obsessed with my scale and they way I look in pictures?
Okay...I know there's a lot of different answers to this (maybe).
I was on Atkins...lost about 40lbs. and of course gained 25 of it back. Been struggling to get that back off of me. I weigh-in once a week, same time, same place, same way. Up and down...trying to keep it down. On a good workout program (Muay Thai, Martial Arts, Plyometrics, etc) and trying my best to eat right (SouthBeach style). I look in the mirror and see improvements. I look at pictures and I still see HUGE...I still see as if I didn't lose anything (even just a little that I have been weekly). Then there's the scale...I feel good...until I step on it and it doesn't show me any progress. Am I trippin'? Should I base it all on these things? THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR YOUR HELP. Hopefully I can be in a good weight goal by this October. Pray for me :)

The best way to track your weight loss is to try on a pair of old clothes that don't fit any more. That way you know you are smaller!! I have several different pairs of pants that I used to be able to fit into, and when I start gaining weight and they fit I know I need to lose..then when I lose I can try them on again and when they are baggy I know I have lost weight..
Also, don't worry about the scales too much..a healthy weight loss is 1-2 lbs. a week..so as long as you are losing that you are doing really well..Weighing yourself once a week is good.
Try not to worry about how you look in pictures..it could just be the lighting..or what you were wearing, etc. If you can see a difference when you look in the mirror then you are doing good!!

Well, as they say, a camera adds 10 lbs. But I doubt thats really the case. Its possible that you just have poor self image, always concentrating on your imperfections.
And scales are just a bad idea. I weigh myself, sure...but most weight is water weight from what Ive read. When you work out you are burning away fat by developing muscle which weighs more than fat to begin with.
What helps me track my progress is measuring myself. Get a tape ruler and measure out your arms, chest, waist, hips, thighs etc, and keep track of yourself that way. I think its more important to lose inches rather than pounds.
Hoped this helped a bit, and good luck!

well you seem to be trying very hard, which is admirable. but obsession isnt going to get you anywhere, just try and be healthy, plenty of fruit and veg, ditch the junk food and stuff like white bread and potatoes, treat yourself occasionally :-)
keep up with the exercising, chuck out the scales, treat yourself to a new outfit you look good in, this will boost your confidence. :-) good luck with it all xxx
