Another blatant criminal illegal alien that needs to be arrested and put in jail. This is not the first time she has been in trouble with our country's rules. Send her back to where she came from. Admittedly, immigration law does not de jure separate parents from their children. However, the legal practice does de facto separate undocumented parents from their citizen children.

Elvira Arellano is an admirable woman. She is doing whatever she can to ensure a life for her son that is better than he would likely get if he is de facto forcefully deported along with her. This treatment of the citizen children of undocumented parents is unfair for the children; it reduces the chances that they will benefit from their citizenship.

Harm is often not meant in principle, but that doesn't mean that harm is not implemented in practice. Principles, no matter how good society claims they are, are nothing but worthless when they are not implemented through good practices. Society should not ever ignore social practices that harm the well being of families.
